Occasionally I browse the CS market, love the car. I have a OG M2 that I don’t think I’ll part with. Recently remember a CS on BAT going for lower than the market has represented lately.

This car at a NJ Kia dealership of all places has been on the lot longer than 2 months, 5 owners, came from Canada, went through a auction.

Any thoughts or knowledge about this car? I don’t mind the 5 owners as it still has less than 3k miles, but the auction transaction seems odd. There are also no records of maintenance done on this car either (oil changes ect). Maybe this was a demo car?

Definitely seems too good to be true and I am quite curious as to how/why this is still on the lot. For what the car is and in this market, this is a good deal. Thoughts?

In the modern Porsche world you can have the dealer or anyone with a diagnostic tool pull up an "Over Rev" report. This gives a history of how many times the car has shifted at high RPM's, and especially when it bounced off the REV limiter. Guys buying GT3's and Turbos all check this report.

One of the owners had the car for 2 weeks? Why would a car this young have had 5 owners and why is it at a KIA dealership? Didn't somebody here say that this dealer is a POS and to stay away from them?

I'd be going over this car very carefully. Don't forget there's been a bunch of flood cars on the market lately.

I feel the same way about the car being at a Kia dealership.

Can you pull over rev reports on bmw’s? Didn’t know that you could, I’m aware you can on Porsche. Can you still over rev a dct? Manual I most certainly know this can occur often enough.

FWIW I bought my CS from this exact dealership and they were great to deal with, and the car was clean with no issues.

Their used car manager started buying exotics when the market turned, and made good money doing it so I guess they continue on.

As for this car, I wouldn't personally buy a Canada car in the US and vice versa unless it was for the short term. Can lead to headaches down the road with BMWNA if you have issues with the car.

I think this is the Kia where the car has been in and out of for a while. If you look in the background this isn't your typical Kia dealership.

that kia dealer has lambos and mclarens on their lot.

i think the car is listed cheap because its a gray market car imported from canada. you'll have to do your homework on the pros and cons of that. not sure how warranty, recalls, etc all work if its a canada car.

when i was looking for an e92 the canadian import cars were always cheaper. alot of people just dont want to deal with that hassle. especially when they have to sell it down the road.

It has hardly any miles on it. Still has a factory warranty. Looks good to me.

I agree. Those 2 M2 CS that were on bringatrailer recently going for below market prices were also Canadian gray market cars too.

Did they swap the console on this for MPH? Is that still a thing with these cars or do they just flip a switch to change it over since it’s electronic?

It's not electronic. Gauges are analog but give off a sort of flat-panel look. If you want to change from kph to mph, gotta swap the cluster.

I live very close to this dealer and have seen this car first hand several times. I also spoke to a guy right after his road test. He liked it, however wanted to keep searching for a manual car.

As mentioned above this dealer is unique in that they buy a lot of high end cars as well as sell Kia's.

The price is certainly low and could likely be negotiated further given the amount of time that this car has been sitting on the lot.

That was me that said that and I stand by it. This car has been sitting outside for months and I have personally seen dealer staff beating on so,emory the cars during testdrives. I recommended the last time I mentioned about the dealer to have the car PPI’d at PM BMW down the street if you want the full check.

Id probably stay away and not because its at a KIA dealer, I bought my comp at a nissan dealer and car has been great. But def a PPI.

But also yes this is a decent deal but wait a bit and you will be able to buy a CS in the 80s all day long
