Best way to check is to put a small magnet on the bonnet, if it sticks it's steel, if it doesn't then its aluminium.

The Mperformance Style rear diffuser looks and fits great and literally just snaps into place and uses the OEM tabs and screws. Stay away from the other one that they offer though (at least till its gone through more R&D), i got that one first and fitment was pretty bad. Luckily my main parts guy is actually part of the company that makes (or distributes) these parts and did an even trade for me for the M-Performance Style diffuser. |

Thanks a lot for sharing; what shop/person was your contact for the parts? I just noticed you're in Fremont (I'm in San Jose).

Oh perfect! Message Alvin Chiang on Facebook. He is my rep for Pristine Auto in Fremont. Right now he does pickup at his house since the shop is closed. Let him know i recommended you. You can also message Pristine Auto on IG but you'll get one of their sales reps. Either one works though.

My local BMW dealership matched GetBMWParts and installed the rear spoiler for me. I probably paid more than a bodyshop to have it installed, but it was worth the peace of mind.

I personally love it and it looks nicer and the Alcantara sides definitely feel thicker than the stock steering wheel. The Alcantara definitely needs a bit of love and care but the Sonax Alcantara Cleaner does the trick perfectly for me about once every 7-8 weeks.
Some people complain that the top (leather) portion of the wheel isn't circular but that doesn't bother me and I love the flat(ter) bottom. My car came installed with it but I think you need to buy the carbon fiber trim piece (Part # 32302345203) separately (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The $775 is a pretty good price.

Contacted him! How much work was putting on the front lip for you? From the photos I've been given, all the holes seem pretty similar to the actual M Performance Part (51-19-2-449-476) so it seems like fitment should be okay?

There are spots where you will need to drill holes, but other than that it uses OEM mounting points as well as OEM hardware and the push clips are used as well. No other hardware was needed other than whats already on the car. No 3M was needed either. Fitment for me was a 9/10. Theres a barely noticable gap on the right side compared to the left, but thats just me being super OCD, however i hear even the M Performance part itself only fits about that good anyways so for me it was a win.

IMO if you are getting aftermarket, do some research and get cf parts from eBay or aliexpress. Some vendor in the US drop ship the same parts and charge more or it.. Also there's a big eBay review thread in f80 forum, look it up.

I bought the OEM M performance ,Part Number 51-62-2-334-541 . Does it come with double sided 3M tape or i need to buy seperately
I dont want it to get installed with betalink adhesive tape as i hear its a pain to take it off. Those of you installed it what did you use?
