From 4 pot to 6 pot.
From normal roof to carbon roof.
From normal hood to carbon hood.
Etc etc

Bmw does not throw away the parts they don’t use on the CS. They get used on other cars.

When you buy new Carbon diffuser you throw youre old one away. Bmw does not.

For me those upgraded parts are not worth 30k for sure. The driving between an M2C and a CS is not that big of difference. Certainly in the weigh department it brings not much.

In the end it is the same as the other CS models. Great car, best version of the car, and not a great value. Some people will find it justified and some won't.

I just wish we got more substantial performance upgrades for the price. GM sucks at a lot of things, but when you look at the upgraded models of Camaro and Corvette they deliver big improvements to key components, not only expensive carbon body panels to shave unnoticeable amounts of sprung weight. BMW is mostly giving you back things they already "took away" from the M2. The seats, engine tune, adaptive dampers, and brake options are all things that are standard or available on M4 ZCP.

I just can't justify a CS like Chris said. And for me the choice is a no money issue. I just feel like I am paying to much for it and because of that I would not enjoy my car at all. So for me the M2C is a perfect machine and worth the money.

If you have the money for it to buy stuff doesn't always mean you should do it when you think it s overpriced.

I'm beginning to think BMW had the entire F87 platform—M2, M2C and M2CS—planned prior to every releasing the M2 and the whole closed deck thing was a mistaken reference to the S55.
Rumor has it (surfaced in January 2016) that an N55 M2 and S55 M2 were actually developed side-by-side, or at least within a small time window. The N55 M2 was supposed to be named "M2". And that happened. The S55 M2 was supposed to be called "M2 CS", due for release around 2018. And that did not happen: things took a turn in 2018 because of EU emissions homologation requirements taking force in September 2018 in Europe. Result: exit the N55 M2 and rebaptizing the S55 M2 as "M2 Competition". During the Summer of 2018: exit + enter. In VIN decoders exactly the same pre-production S55 M2 got labelled "M2 CS" and at some other point in time "M2 Competition". We may reasonably assume that the S55 M2 (temporary dubbed "M2 CS") that turned "M2 Competition", was not supposed to be sold at near-base-M2 price. But the problem was that there was no entry-level BMW M car anymore with the N55 M2 being retired. So the M2 Competition unexpectedly 'dropped' into the entry-level BMW M car position, with an attractive price. That's also why the M2 Competition will continue to be regarded as excellent value for money. Also from a price perspective, the M2 Competition stole the 450hp 2020 M2 CS thunder: if the M2 Competition would have been priced somewhere in the middle between base M2 price and base M4 price, the 2020 M2 CS price would be a little less hard to stomach.

Though this rumor has never been confirmed, M2 Competition owners may occasionally come across car parts featuring "CS" stamped on it.

Different seats were already spotted on an M2 test mule early Spring 2015 (see here), many months before the OG M2 launch in November 2015 (OG M2 deliveries started from April 16, 2016 onwards). Apparently BMW decided to also keep those for a later M2 iteration (turned out to be the M2 Competition from September 2018 onwards, which was initially intended to be named "M2 CS").

Rumor about an M2 "sibling" in February 2015:

and you forgot one more important point- its a limited edition , and usually limited edition cars , are a lot more expensive just for that limited run and production!
I did think it but erred on the side of only listing directly quantifiable differences. But I think you are on point.

It seems like a bargain compared to a new M3/4, or a GTS/GT4 or Jag Ftype in Australia. Perhaps the fact those cars are much cheaper in the US and UK is why these countries got relatively smaller allocations than you'd have thought they would have? I don't think all M2CS buyers are actually looking at the M2C as the natural alternative (they would have otherwise probably already got a M2C if they did).

M2CS although very successful is indeed expensive M2 C offers better value for money
of an M2 OG I hesitated to keep it but a very advantageous commercial proposal from my dealership convinced me to order M2 CS

I have said multiple times that I think the CS is a great upgrade for OG M2 owners, not so much for M2 Competition owners. The Competition has the same engine as the CS, same torque, and only 39 less horsepower.

For me, this is correct. I have a 19 M5 Comp that I will keep and then add the M2CS so I can park it on a lift in my garage and drive it maybe once a month.
