MY2020 A45 AMG - true BMW M2C Rival?

Attached the brand new Mercedes A45AMG in light Camo; i’ve just seen it in Vienna! aggressiv looking bumper, wide arches, 245/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tire (size in square) and big 6pot brakes at the front.

the rear is also aggressive, but 4 huge tailpipes a bit OTT in my opinion.

off the line it should smoke us traction wise with its allwheeldrive and sticky tires..

let me know what you think about the pictures.. is it a ture M2 rival?

Update 5/7/19:
car released- find a few screenshots of the carwow clips below, 421hp/500nm 3.9sec 0-100km/h sounds promising, interior is gorgeous imo..

Copy that from the Coupe vs HotHatch POV, and 4 vs 6zyl speach, but... same price, 2020+ genius interior styling compared to our bmw 200x years oldfashioned especially dash...

the new M135i is the Rival of the A35AMG, so if the A45AMG deliver >300kW/408Ps it should be very quick! also handling, i guess it’s at same laptimes with that front axle as the M2?!

0-100kph should be easy under 4, 0-200kph under 15sec. same numbers (as the stock) and again, i guess @ similar pricing as the M2..

MB uses run-flat tires and their wheels have a long history of bending if you hit even a slight pothole. The run-flat ties alone make it a non-rival.

you got me, I was not checking it those Michelin PS4S are runflats or not

and, at AWD you will need to wait 20-30.000km to get rid of them an install non-runflats, or you sell them before.. your M2C is eating tires, so the need to change them is definitely more frequent haha

BTW i sold the M2C michelin PSS tire immediately, so I put Michelin Cup2* on it which are road tires not semi slicks in my opinion! if you push and have set the tire pressure right they are quite good! I hope no one install them at the A45AMG ..

even that I’m not sure, it comes with drift mode, maybe not as the F90 M5 but Ford Focus RS i think..

.. don’t get me wrong, I like our m2c and running 404kW/550ps 759nm with it, not sure if a tuned A45AMG manage to beat 7.3sec 100-200km/h of my manual M2C..Stage1+

even 4zyl sound not that bad if you install this.. but soundwise 5zyl AUDI RS3 or TTRS is king (for me), S55 sounds raspy and a bit like a empty metal can..N54/N55 sounds better but who really cares @ >400kW/750Nm with Stock turbos at S55 engines..

There's a lot of misinformation here.

RFTs have a lot of shoulder wear and typically have a horrible ride. There's not enough compliance in the sidewall because it's super reinforced.

i agree this isn't a m2 competitor which is a rwd with a 6spd manual...maybe only in price.

This A45 with the fwd-awd is more of a audi rs3, audi ttrs, golf r , civic type R competitor.

Sorry, but to me the A45 has been hit with an ugly stick...no, correction...beaten with an ugly stick. It's a hatch, not a sports car.

Power and speed wise, yes. Dynamically no.

I own a current GLA45 and it's effing brilliant in a WRX STI way. I also recently owned a tuned 600hp '18 TTRS and loved it...tho it was scary fast. Un-eff-withable really. Even smoked GTRs and Z06's in straight line speed.

The M2C tho? Regarding. Fun. Usable and just boost epic. It's real, challenging and tossable. I don't miss the 600hp.

my buddy has a 2013 sti hatch and he mentioned he wanted some thing a little nicer but in hatch form. I told him to check out the gla45 amg since its basically a nicer STI

Can't tell if you are trolling....

This is probably, and I am pretty sure I say this with a 100% confidence, the most factually false thing I have read on the entire internet. Ever.

I am hoping BMW will make a 1M hatch to match the A45. The M2 is not A45’s rival.

You're right. I was a bit surprised looking at the sidewall last week.
