I have no idea why it's there, it's just obvious from the wrinkle/texture in the first pic, the edge where the tape ends, and the fact that that part of the door sill isn't painted body color.

edit: If I had to guess, they were taped due to seats being removed/installed

I actually wanted the same, but when my shop removed the MP spoiler, they found a bunch of gouges underneath from when the PO had removed the factory spoiler to install the MP one. So I pretty much had to run a spoiler to cover up, unless I wanted to respray.

The removal of adhesive is very easy with a 3M eraser wheel. Almost all body shops use them in the removal of adhesive and 3M tape residue. I have one took off PPF adhesive in tough areas when removing the film.

Regardless good job getting it off cleanly.

Hey guys. The blue tape is the same tape they applied during shipping. I never took it off including the one on the dead pedal. I'm have to Opti Seal the interior in the next two weeks so I was protecting the door sill from getting in and out to avoid any unnecessary marks. I have M pedals to install so left the same tape on dead pedal so I have a clean install once I get to it. I do things in stages and somewhat meticulous about detailing my cars. I'm wierd that way.

Regardless good job getting it off cleanly.

I didn't have an eraser wheel but used a product called sticky stuff remover from Amazon. Put some on the tape residue left it to soak and then a plastic trim tool to scrape it off. It dissolved the tape and scrapped off in thin layers until it was all gone. I then used a clay bar to make sure the surface was fully clean.

I prefer it with a spoiler it likely adds some down force to help with rear traction which is definitely a benefit seeing how tail happy the car is!

are you going forward with mirror caps and side markers and such in CF as well? I've not a huge CF fan on exterior given the area I live in dire to high sun and heat, but I can see where used in the way you've done it, the CF is a nice accent to the body color. enjoy.

They are the last two exterior bits I'm considering. The fender badges are expensive for what they are but will likely bite in the new year. We don't have the heat problem over here
