I tried for 10% but dealer did not budge! (bought 2 cars in one day, so I expected them to agree to 10%) I wound up getting 8% off. I felt like it was a fair deal.

I bought mine out of my home state, saved around 7-8%. I bought in Colorado instead of Utah, gave me an excuse to have beers with a good friend I don't get to see often. I talked to many dealers within a days drive of me. I found mixed results as far as discounts offered for a custom order.

BMW of Austin (not South Austin) offers at least $3,500 off on M2C from an ad I saw.
You might want to call them and confirm. 4-hr drive isn't that bad.

$3500 off in an ad means there at least $2k more to cut out

I came pretty darn close to the elusive 10%. Within .25% actually. I’m quite happy with that deal given the demand for the car and production nearing its end.

stuff like that (the "show up for test drive and get $1k off") usually does not apply to ordered cars

I tried 5% at first and couldn't get them to budge. I ended up at 3% which saved me a few grand. It didn't help I was buying from one of the top selling M2 dealers in the country... or so they say. I couldn't get an allocation in my area unfortunately. If your willing to search wider, I'm sure it will pay off.

6-10% off MSRP is typical for most on this forum. Send blast emails to Sales/Internet Managers at various dealers specifying what you want and email specifically what want and how much you're willing to pay for the car. Don't ask them how much they will take off the car....deal from a position of strength and position yourself as if you're willing to walk away if your terms are not met. Also let them know right off the mark you're serious buyer with cash or excellent credit and would put down a deposit immediately if your terms can be met. Finally don't be afraid to escalate the ask to dealership management, especially at the end of the month when management is tallying up orders, sales closures, and next month allotment/inventory. This is the best time for Finance as well to close on deals. Just my two cents.

I got 7% off at the end of November. Worked out because the car happened to be at a dealership 20 minutes from my house. There was no other dealer within a 1000 mile radius that had the options/color I wanted (Sunset Orange, MT, no sunroof, executive package, carbon fiber bits). I agree with GarageMadness, email a bunch of Sales Managers. I've bought cars in the past this way and always had the best of luck. Saves you the hassle of sitting around in the dealership, waiting for them to approve a deal.

This is pretty much well summed up, and how I do it. No sitting at the dealer and watching the paper pushers go back and forth. I go in to see/drive the car and leave. Once I'm sure of my car and options, I reach out to area dealers and give them the spec and make a firm offer. If they all say no, you'll get a sense of where the market is at is you go low initially. I'm always prepared to walk and buy another place or another time. That alone helps close many a deal with cars. I say "here's my price and I buy it now". Gotta be serious if you're gonna negotiate

Texas. M2C in LBB with Exec pkg, Sunroof, DCT, all weather mats, and tinted windows etc., for $62,000...think it stickered for $66,225...so meh 6% or so seems to be the magic number.

No...sale price. Gotta pay Big Tex his share. Either way...about average. Wife faired better a couple of years ago with a G05 X5 build about $11K off sticker.

I think the ideal window for the M2C was probably 6-9 months ago. With production wrapping up negotiating will be harder.

If you are willing to drive and can find at least two dealers with cars on hand that match the spec you want you could still probably get close to 10% if you are willing to act now to close by the end of the month. If you email saying the specific vehicle, what you are willing to pay (out the door), that you are reaching out to multiple dealers and the first to accept you will close tomorrow you may be surprised what they will do and how easy it can be.

2021 M2C discount price

Bought my 2021 AW M2C on Sept. 24th, 2020 at my hometown Center, BMW of Lincoln, Nebraska.
6-speed, Exec package, CF trim, blue stitching, done. Sticker was $61,095 including destination Charge.
First offer was 7% off so we made a deal at $56,820. Wanted to buy local so I was done. Same exact car was in California for almost $10k more and they would not come down. Happy to wait for that kind of savings. And the CA client advisor acted like he ws doing me a favor....lol....

Non-metallic paint saved $550
No Sunroof saved weight and another $1,000
Manual Transmission saved $2,900
No M-Drivers package saved another $2,500
That's $6,950 in options I felt I didn't need, but for others these might be important, not for me to judge.
