Swap wheels pre delivery?

My M2C landed at Port Brunswick yesterday. It comes with the standard bi-colored 788m wheels which are OK, but don't wow me and will be a pain to clean.

I'm in love with the M Performance 763m wheels in frozen gold. So my question is should I work a wheel swap into the purchase of the car? Or is it better to just get it delivered as is, buy a set of 763m from getBMWParts and try to sell the 788m myself?

If anyone has worked a wheel swap into their car deal I'd be curious how much you got from the dealer for the wheels that came with the car.

all depends with the dealer. my only experience with a wheel swap was for my 2018 SQ5. dealer offered to swap my 20" wheels for the 21" wheels that came standard in the Prestige trim. the dealer did it for free since it helped them reset an wrongly ordered SQ5 to the correct specs.

MSRP wise the 763m are $760 more, but getBMWParts price is within $50 between the sets. I asked the dealer to make me an offer.

Interestingly enough, this is the case if you try to buy 763s or 788s online. However, I'd be surprised if the dealer just swaps them for a small cost delta. On these boards (classifieds), you can get new 788 take-offs for $1500 while the 763s go for $3500-4000. You can give it a try and see what they say

honestly, they are worth $760 more, if that was an option when I bought my car I probably would have ponied up the difference

as it was I opted for the canadian only 437m's which I quite like and really give the car a hunkered down look that I miss now that the winter 641m wheels are on...

Totally. If the dealer is willing to put these on for $760 I will sign in a heartbeat.

Definitely work it into the deal. I did exactly that.

Told them to keep the original wheels that came with the car and install the 763m wheels in black.

Took them less than a day and i was pleasantly surprised when the car arrived with MPS2cups as well.

Im sure they ended up selling my original wheels too someone else since they were brand new.

Cost was marginal. Not even worth mentioning. But once you drive off the lot, they will be less inclined to take your original wheels, so definitely do it before delivery

Marc - The 763's do come with the Cup2's unless they're bought bare. Considering our weather and the poor wet road performance, the Cup2's are a bit sketchy for daily driving most of the year and would be lots of, um, "fun" right now. I don't know which dealer you're working with but Kuni never has them in stock, so there's a bit of lead time for them to order.

Buy both sets and use the 788s for winter/all season tires? (If you're in cooler climate)

Yeah definitely not getting the Cup2's. If I do this I'd have the dealer mount PSS or PS4. This car won't be a daily, but I also don't want to be too limited on when I can take it out given our climate.
