Ooof. I guess you should take advantage of a black Friday sale to get it down to 1800.

That's a great idea lol.

As long as the color doesn't change she probably won't even notice.

This is a CS and not a CSL.

If you refer back to the E46 CS and CSL, the CS was nowhere near as special.

Are you expecting too much?

Yes typo. The interchanged the reverse gear with the final drive ratio on both transmissions.

The M2 CS to many forum members may seem like a rip off and not worth the cost, and that may hold some truth to it. However, as an enthusiast, and seeing constant bashing of the direction where the "M" brand is headed, I welcome these variations. I probably am not down to pay the premium for it, as I own a "civic" m4, but at the very least, BMW is still producing something geared more towards a real M car and cater to the motorsports enthusiasts. Whether it be for their own sales growth or not, it frankly shouldn't matter to anyone; they are a mass production car company. The other direction BMW M division can go is to continuously further dilute the M badge - I'll take the fore.

My only gripe for these CS / GTS models are that I wish they changed more things on the motor. Bigger displacement, different internals, etc instead of just a tune. GTS sort of went that route with the water cooling, but I'd like to see something more than just a tune to make these cars more special. Sort of like the E92 GTS with its larger displacement motor.

TL;DR Welcome real M cars, please make more

As far as I Know, there were no M4cs in colours other than the 6 ones offered:
  • Alpine White
  • Black Sapphire Metallic (discontinued for 2020MY)
  • Melbourne Red (starting 2020MY)
  • San Marino Blue
  • Lime Rock Grey
  • Frozen Dark Blue

The one I had seen was Melbourne and I thought it was an individual build... thanks for clearing that up ... so I guess no individual colors then?

Fully agree with you on this. It is one of my biggest disappointments with the M4cs, is that it didn't come with the GTS power levels and water injection system.

Factor in all OEM, the price will only increase over time if the rumor is true about 500 units to the US.

This will be a future classic and super rare.

My guess has been $85K with DCT (but without the carbon ceramics) for a while now. That's quite a lot - I am hoping it comes in lower than that...will be interesting to see.

Talk about frustration.
Simple math using other CS variant's pricing.

M3CS and M4CS carries a 34% premium over their M3/M4 Comp dct couterparts.

M2 Comp msrp $58,900 + 34%
M2CS (manual) msrp = $78,9xx
M2CS (dct) msrp = $81,8xx

Paint - $550
Exec pack - $1,200
Carbon Ceramics - $8,150
Gold wheels - ?
Cup 2 tires - ?

Fully loaded easily into $90k range.

-The "I can tune a regular M2c to be more powerful than the M2 CS" crowd
-The color challenged, complaining about the shade of blue, the color of the brakes, the fly resting on a plant in their office...
I think CF roof is optional
Cf roof standard per pdf

10000% at MSRP. the problem is that all the other dealerships in the US is privately owned.

My dealership is BMW directly and not privately owned. Therefore, I have that option. Only two allocations they are getting which is confirmed. I am first on my build.

Not trying to mask other purposes in to "increase versatility". Collectors and such have probably already snapped them all up. Your typical club racer just doesn't have that kinda cash laying around and can make an equally capable car for a lot less. Heck, get a used low miles M2C (~50k) and make some upgrades (10-20k) and there ya go. The "regular" M2C is already a very capable car. I think most of what I am seeing at least is cosmetic anyway... Just paying for exclusivities... Not sure why that is such a big thing these days...
Because the definition of luxury is now exclusivity. Many things cost way more than expected. But people also have much more spending power these days. Millionaires from tech, influencers, etc are readily available. Just because something cost a lot means nothing to someone who wants luxury.

The MSRP will be the deciding factor. I love the wheels, hood and CF roof, which you can't get on any other M2. If the price is right, this will be the M2 to get for new customers. Current M2 owners can be comfortable with the fact that the CS doesn't make the previous M2's obsolete, it's just got some incentives for us who haven't gotten an M2 as of yet. It's the same thing for the M3 CS and M4 CS when they were announced.

My opinion is that the price will make or break this car. Look at the competition (no M2 Competition, i mean actual competition for the car), there are a lot of options for $80K that aren't based on a 2 series.

The question is more appropriately if BMW is going to make that program available at all for the M2CS:

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...postcount=2821

If it is available then yes, I understand what you are saying...it comes down to the individual dealer as to whether they are going to allow a customer to purchase the car this way.

I have to disagree on this statement. The M2 CS is tuned differently. Factor in the fact that its all OEM and not "add ons" to the M2comp or OG and also the fact of how many are coming to the states, you really have a special car here. I have the OG and its a phenomenal car. However, the CS kicks it up a few notches. As long as it is priced correctly ($70-75K), this will be a steal of a car. It will definitely be lighter than the comp by at least 100 lbs which is an advantage by power to weight ratio. Factor that with only 500-1000 coming to the US and it being a manual in a "CS" model, you have yourself a very special car.
