M2s being shipped to Texas - Port of Galveston has reopened
Does anyone have a car on a boat headed for BMW's Vehicle Distribution Center at the Port of Galveston?

Mine is going that way but not for a few weeks. Car is currently in production so it probably won't be at the port for another 2-4 weeks. Hopefully. If it's late it's okay, a lot of people lost everything they have in this hurricane so for me to complain about a late car because of the storm would be silly.

Sept. 1 Update: The BMW and MINI facilities at the Port of Galveston reopened yesterday (Aug. 31). There was no damage to any vehicles being held there, although the holding lots did flood. (All the vehicles were moved to higher ground before Harvey hit.) In addition, the prevailing winds from the storm generally kept the water away from the VDC, so there was little damage.
So, the good news is that the boats that were en route to Galveston will be able to unload. However, there's been no word yet on when vehicles will be able to be shipped from there. |

It?s possible they?ll just process what they have. Fingers crossed that?s not the case for anyone waiting on their car though. |

The tracking for the ship carrying my car still shows 9/10 into Galveston but with a 1 day longer delay before leaving the port again.
