Not in the US you can't. Blue stitching is your only option. Don't know about Canada.

I'm also wondering how many people are looking at that picture in the Canadian order guide and not seeing where it says "New Interior Trim w/Chrome Application"

Obviously the "carbon fiber" isn't chrome... but the part everyone keeps thinking is black could well be the "matte silver / matte chrome" but taken with a very shitty camera or bad lighting so it looks black (due to reflection of the interior / headliner). Assuming that is actually a photo and not a rendering... but again, if it's a rendering, a bad camera position or strange light angle can screw with the coloring, and then 1000's of detail-obsessed F87 people think that it's black.

True about the angle, but we'll see when the US Configurator goes live

Not really sure what "we'll see"... people are already receiving 2018s in the US and they don't have the black edge on that center piece. There is no option to choose anything at all when it comes to the M2 interior in the US.

Also, I believe the side vents are showing the matte silver even in that picture - how much sense would it make to have piano black trim around the center section but then have the side vents trimmed in matte silver? Seems really out of place IMO.

Now, will it be added as an option later in 2018? Possible, I suppose... Not something I'm fretting over. As long as it isn't *shiny* chrome (plastic) I don't really care. The matte doesn't bother me, I just don't like to catch sun glare off of interior brightwork.

I just wish I could get 40-20-40 rear seats here. Anybody from Canada want to trade? (100% serious)

First, that pic is an artist rendering, an old one albeit. That's not an actual real life interior. Second, the pic states (as someone already pointed out) "chrome application." Lastly, standard equipment 760 also says "satin chrome" which I assume is referring to the interior trim. No mention of black trim anywhere that I can see.

Regardless, this is not a trim thread it's an adaptive headlight thread.

OP, I noticed that it says "ambient lighting" on your paperwork under list of standard equipment. Is there any difference in this at all in regards to location and scope of the ambient lighting? I.E cupholder/gearshift area, lighting color options?

I'm waiting on my MY'18 to arrive (sometime in Oct) and I bought sight unseen, and I still haven't gotten a chance to even take a look at one in person, so I can't tell what to expect.

I'm not aware of any changes in the ambient lighting, but I don't have access to a '17 for comparison. The manual says you can adjust the color and brightness.

The fact that the BMWUSA online config is still not live for 2018 M2 & M3 is beyond ridiculous. It's mid-August already...

My SA just got his first 2018 LCI here in Chicago. NO HEX LEDs. Customer did NOT get the exec package. Buyers beware!

I had a feeling it (hex/adaptive) would only show up on those non-Exec cars that had it listed in the specs; of course, that still doesn't explain why some non-Exec cars are getting them standard/included while other non-Exec cars don't get them. WTF, BMW?

Wow, this just keeps getting odder.

Maybe mine is the only one, and it's so rare it's worth a million bucks...not.

I believe adaptive LED Headlights is a $1,000 option in Canada.

Correct. I had to call in and change my order once I started reading that if you didn't get the 552-option, then you got the old "halo" style lights..here is the reference pic the dealer sent me, which in itself is wrong, lol as he states below the pic and confirms that Option 552 is for the Adaptive Lighting Package, not for the high beam "thingy".

THIS IS FOR CANADA ONLY...so don't freak out Americans...maybe giving "Free" lighting package upgrades to its US customers is BMW's way of saying "Here's a better lighting system so you can see the ballot a little better next time you vote."

No,we need the better lighting system even more for the provincial Ontario election next year with Orville Redenbacher on the ballot again.

Well, the image on the bimmer.work website has changed from when I originally checked it. My vehicle now shows--clearly--chrome trim. It used to show piano black. When I get my car in a couple weeks at the Welt, I assume it will have the chrome trim.

My assumption is that bimmer.work pulls these images from BMW somehow, so it looks like the mistake has been corrected.

The images for my car always showed the satin-finish trim on the dash. (It's not hard-core shiny chrome.) Also note that this photo is not a U.S. version - that's not an mph speedometer.

LED lights are standard for LCI, adaptive LEDs cost an extra $1,000.

My dealer had a MY18 arrive yesterday. Its production date was 2017-07-04. It did not have the exec package and did not come with adaptive LEDs.

BOOM!

Thread should be now called "Adaptive LED headlights are RANDOM unless you get the exec package (US ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CANADA NEED NOT WORRY)"

I'll be waiting for the class action lawsuit.
