There are quite a few factors that influence the "burble" sound
quality, both from the calibration strategy we use, as well as the
physical arrangement of the exhaust system itself.

Cars with aftermarket down-pipes and resonator delete will be much
more aggressive sounding with sharper "pops" and "bangs". Cars
with factory downpipes will be more mild and controlled sounding.

Example: Stock Exhaust - Stage ONE Software

Example: Stock Exhaust - Stage TWO Software

Both of those vehicles have identical calibration strategies for the
throttle overrun (aka: burble). The only difference is the exhaust
configuration.

THANK YOU

Who's ready for FULL OBDII Port Flashing?!?!

No more ECU Removal!
Completely User Installable,
Fully Upgradable,
and Switchable between Tuned and Stock Maps.

As most of you are currently reading across multiple threads all over this forum,
multiple tool makers have been running full speed ahead towards the finish line
with this new flashing protocol.

NOTE: This new OBDII protocol is not exclusive to VF Engineering/HEX Tuning
and will likely be shared with other tuners around the world. It is the responsibility
of the tuner to properly test the flashing processes and integrate the new utility
into their existing software program.

The actual performance software files, service and support channels, as well as the
reputation of our brand is what makes this an exciting opportunity for BMW F-series
owners around the world!

To share our excitement with the Bimmerpost Community we are going to give away
TWO FREE OBDII Port Flashes with Before & After Dyno Results at our Anaheim, CA
facility this coming week!

This will be our opportunity to demonstrate the new flashing process, as well as to highlight
the the facility where all of our software files are developed, tested, and validated prior
to consumer release.

I had my ECU unlocked and HEX stage 1 tuned back in October. Just so I understand this correctly, if for some reason the dealer messes up my tune through some update and locks the ECU, I can install back my HEX stage 1 tune without having to unlock the ECU again?

How do you like it? Any issues/complaints at all, or has it been flawless for you? Would love to see a full “review” on power vs. stock, responsiveness, day-to-day drivability under part throttle, etc.

I will be able to provide such a review shortly.

I'm not a VF employee, but that's how this was explained to me. In fact, anytime the dealer updates the ECU, you will have to re-flash the tune. But it is no longer necessary to physically unlock the ecu.

Glad to hear! I am due soon for an oil change and was nervous that even though I plan on giving direct instructions to my SA not to do any updates that one would still get done. And I would need to get my ECU unlocked again.

Just as background, besides the stage 1 tune I also have Fabspeed HFC and a BMC drop in filter.

After the tune, the M2 feels significantly faster and I set off traction control in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. However, at the same time the power delivery is still very linear and feels almost like stock in the power delivery aspect. I wouldn't say there are any huge spikes in power where you get that thrown back in your seat feeling.

My experience with the tune has been flawless no issues or complaints. The only thing I would change is the exhaust pops and rumbles in comfort mode now and I would have rather had it be quiet in comfort mode with all the traction control features on. I rather have it pop and rumble in sport, sport + and Easter egg mode (comfort with traction off).

I plan on upgrading to stage 2 in the summer. I currently have the CSF intercooler on order and have AA chargepipes waiting to be installed once I get the intercooler.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for this! As a Philly guy with an eye towards grabbing an M2 in the next year or two, I definitely will...
