It's because of your fiancée, not because of the car.

Coincidentally I had two people today say they liked the car when I was parking.
Mine is the only M2 I've ever seen out in the wild this area although I know there is an AW and MG that other Nittany Bimmer members have in central PA. |

So many trying to race the M2
I've had literally someone in a Ford Explorer trying to keep up with me during my spirited drive through the mountains last weekend.
And tonight, someone in a Ford F-150 tried to race me during a long turn on a ramp. I just don't understand. As soon as they see the car it's like they have something to prove. Most of the time I just ignore because I don't really want the attention or to street race. It's like almost everyday. Anyone else think this car is getting a lot of attention?

People used to notice my M2 and race me (mostly Subarus) when it was fairly new and the wow factor was high. Now I see other M2s in my neighborhood from time to time and don't get noticed that much...

They do, but nothing like when I drive the Lotus.
It's interesting to me that the M2 turns the people around me into asshole drivers. It's a world of difference between driving it, and my wife's RDX. |

I'm treated well in the UK in LBB, get let out a lot or generally an air of respect which is nice. People notice the car/hear the car for sure. Feels like an overall good balance.
Only one race attempt and 2-3 'rev it!' comments so not bad there either |

Im in LA as well with a MG M2. Get decent attention, had a guy pull up next to me a week ago and ask how much he can get one for.

With LBB the attention is literally constant.
I had a little kid the other day yell "I LIKE YOUR LAMBORGHINI!!" Outgoing people and older people always walk up and make comments to me. People ask me for rides. Every lead foot in the streets wants some. Random thumbs up are a regular thing. Even cars that are drastically more expensive give me props that I never got in my older m3's |

Buzzed passed this guy in an older jag. At the light he motioned for me to roll down my window. Wasn't sure if he was going to chew me out for flying by him around a corner or what. He said "I like the way it sounds!"

I get a lot of Civics and VW trying to race me with the occasional WRX/STI. I always let them just "speed off" while basically keeping up with them at 1/2 throttle in Efficient mode.

Porsches and any RS Audis are the main ones here. It's close to a 100% chance they will do anything possible to blast past you. I just say to myself. Oh, there goes another one.
Other likely candidates are Mustangs and Golfs with a loud exhaust. Although most of the time the Golf drivers will pause for a while drooling then speed off. It's weird. Sort of their aspirational car. The other common one is various people at traffic lights in the lane next to me that stop short and stare at the car. Sometimes they edge forward and do a thumbs up or say something nice. The weirdest experience ever was when I was with my daughter in the car (12). I was coming out of a parking lot and a guy in his 20s with his girlfriend just stared a stare you'd only see in a strip club. Even my daughter noticed him. He was transfixed. I glanced back in the mirror and he was still staring like that as I went off into the distance. It was so lustful I felt like putting a car cover on. Oh yes. Did I mention it's always males. |

I chose MG for the same reasons. I really don't want to draw attention to my expensive fast car. Makes it more noticeable to vandals and thieves. Also means when I drive fast people only really notice a 'grey 2-series' of which there are plenty.

I don't know about mine, but I did notice a mineral gray M2 on my way home from work yesterday. Obviously looked great.
Wondering if it was a forum member on I-25 headed north through the DTC around 5PM?
