What no M mirrors?! Oh forget this BMW dropped the ball on this one!

Kidding they're just mirrors and that wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Im excited for the final reveal unless these photos truly are the real deal :

Here you go, everyone.

Lets not forget about this BS studio lighting.

I removed the lighting effects from inside the front intakes.

I also removed the licence plate, as I'm sure many of us, including myself, won't be using one.

It looks A LOT better already.

Take a gander:

I'd leave the reflectors alone to be honest. Hell I'd even leave the chrome kidneys on too! I much prefer these to the M3/4 personally, very nice touch.
Yep your probably right,I just need to see better pics of the car.

I like the idea of doing a day at the Performance Center with you.Are Canadians allowed to go?What is the price?

I'm waiting for the non-studio touched up pictures. One thing I did note from the article was that its getting the M4 transmissions.....sounded like both manual and DCT. The 1M used the 135is 6 speed so this is definitely an improvement.

I won't comment on the mirrors, since that topic has already been beaten to death, but am I alone in thinking that the side vents look a bit... awkward? It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted to make it the size of the E90's vent or the F80's, so they put an E90 -sized vent into an F80-sized body line?

Beyond that, the rear reflectors definitely seem to be a... questionable... design element, but overall the car is fairly attractive.

I really hope the M2 has an oil temperature gauge...at least a digital version.

It has an entirely new block, crank, pistons, etc. Calling it an N55 is, well, not really indicative of what it is. It's an engine specific to the M2 and the X4 M40.

What? The 1M didn't have a CF roof, and even less of an "M specific" engine. It used an N54 pulled straight from the 135/335 with a tune on it. While I'm not convinced this motor is going to be as potent as the N54, assuming it is...I'll certainly trade the beefed up engine for a set of mirrors any day.

So your rambling about a set of side mirrors? Yikes man. It's a driver's car...

AMEN!!!!

If it's really that big of a deal, freaking retrofit some damn M mirrors.

The 2 series is such a soft/harmless looking car! I don't like these aggressive, overstyled bumpers, it doesn't fit to it. However, it's not a big deal breaker for me, nor is the fact that there are no m mirrors. I bet it is still an amazing car, and probably will be legendary some day, even though I have a grudge against BMWs design team.

I'm good...

Not upset that I canceled my deposit either, if this is real it is really underwhelming where as the 1M was overwhelming IMO. Will just have to get a second hand 1M in the future :/

Like it, but would be lying if I said it had me really fired up.

Are we getting the M seats, or is that off the table?

I am looking forward to the official pictures - the paint almost looks "frozen" in what has been leaked so far.

I want to see the car from more angles and whatnot...6 PM baby!

Just noticed something else. The drive modes seem to be the same as the regular M235i:

So same as the mules we've seen before

P.S. May I just reiterate how BADLY this car is begging for a CF trunk spoiler?

Sport seats are standard, and there have been no indications the the M seats are an available option.

And it has no PDC on the pictures. I really hope they offer PDC at the front...otherwise...my girlfriend has only one car for the next couple of years...

I like everything about it except those vertical reflectors in the rear. IND will be making a lotta cash on the paint matched replacements. Hideous! As for not having M mirrors, I find it completely acceptable because come on it's an entry level M car. It has the N55 vs the S55 and they had to dumb it down cosmetically comapred to the f8x as well. Makes me happy to have my f80

This car is fucking ugly! I'm let down by this thing. I'm not sure if I will be coming around to this car. At least the 1M looked the part as well. This looks like the unwanted love child made by the Lexus RS250 and Merc Cwho gives a shit!
