M2 Gran Coupe? Why not just get an X4M?

It looks nothing like a 1 Series M Coupe.

I'd probably have bought a 4-door version instead if it were available. There are tons of four doors the size of the M2 and the back seats are pretty big as it is.
I'm not too bent out of shape about it because I don't have kids, but in general i'll take slightly more usable over slightly better looking. |

I've not driven the M, but have spent a few days with an M40i version and it's nice for what it is. Enjoy your car, that's what counts. I'm also an idiot that will only drive cars with three pedals, so I know I'm in an ever increasing minority. |

I must say that I like that concept and also would buy it if was an option.
Regarding the other discussion, must say that haven't driven any X BMW, might consider it as the family undercover performing car, but not as a replacement of a car like the M2 unless I have no option and must have just one with that volume capacity for my needs, I personally really dislike the feeling of turning fast with a tall gravity center car, regardless how sticky/wide wheels and a proper suspension it has, it just doesn't feel good nor natural, but of course it is maybe just for me. |

Because that's a larger vehicle and if you're going to get a huge vehicle why not get the X3M instead? It's cheaper, more useable space, but the same size. I don't understand why anyone would buy the X4m over the X3m, it's large, but doesn't have the utility of a large vehicle. The G80 M3 would be better.
An M2GC would be a smaller lighter cheaper sportier vehicle without the hassle of having to crawl into and out of the back seat. Like the e36 m3 with 4 doors, a VW Golf R, Audi RS3 etc. Smaller wheel base is more fun thanthe larger X3m wheelbase. |

Get an M3 if you want four doors. The M2 as a coupe is great.

I never said that. But owning a Macan Turbo after my tuned 135is, I can say it’s definitely a better handling and performing vehicle. The X4 M40i or X4M would also be a good option between the M2 and the new gran coupe.

I'm going to have to stop you there as well. I've driven many Macan's (+the X4M), and an M2 (or any non-CUV) will always be a better drive. You can't escape physics. If you really want a good comp, you should test drive a Giulia QV and a Stelvio QV back-to-back. You can't get a better 1:1 comparison of the effects of CUV height and weight. The Stelvio is fantastic, but it's no Giulia. A CUV is never going to be an adequate replacement for any hardcore track nerd and enthusiast. Sports Car > Sedan > CUV > SUV.

I have driven the X3M. It (and I assume the X4M) is a very fast performance SUV. I might buy an X3MC for winter driving. But, it is not a sports car.
