I would ask for reimbursement then. They made you prove that their part was defective.
I did but they aren't reimbursing me for it. I would have to pay for shipping and install fee too.

You have to pay shipping? They should send you a return label. I understand the labor part as most parts houses only will swap defective parts but they should at least pay to return their bad part. Just MHO.

Then that right there is them not standing by their product. They've already proved to all of us they don't stand behind their product by giving you the run around for almost a year.

Screw em. Glad you got your resolution but at a minimum they need to reimburse you for the cost to get those graphs as well as a return label. ill never give Fabspeed my money again and glad I got rid of mine before any issues came up

Been checking out catted downpipe options and I don't expect it to last forever, as long as it can survive a good three years or so before it burns out, which more than likely will eventually happen...

BTW, I'm looking at the stock cat and FS sample photos, the OEM doesn't look too restrictive..
Oem I heard is about 600-800 Cell vs 200 Cell.
The length of the cell inside is noticeably longer too.

I 2nd everything everyone else said here. You shouldn't've had to pay for any shipping or for O2 testing. That's not a normal procedure for any RMA I've done in my life.

Unfortunately, OP might just be one of those extremely unlucky folks with multiple prolonged issues.

For me, I figured if it did happen, worst case is go back to stock (I kept my stock DP wrapped up in cellophane).
Agreed. Dont sweat it, just get it.

The DP is 1/50th the cost of your car and it ups the enjoyment factor by about 10x (for me at least). The sound is intoxicating. The extra power is awesome. I've had 1 CEL in 10,000 miles and nearly 3 years since installing. By the time the CEL reader I purchased off Amazon arrived the light went away and never came back. Just keep the OEM one hanging around to cover you if you are one of the very few unlucky ones who gets a defective DP.

These things don't last forever. Even the OEM ones burn out. If I can get another 2 years out of mine before it goes I'll be happy as can be. I'll swap the OEM one back in and trade the car in on the next great thing, having had enjoyed my 5 years of trouble free motoring.

I concur.

Eisenmann not only supplied a brand new exhaust but shipped it out free, paid for the original one to be shipped back and then paid for the installation.

And they are based out of Germany instead of North America granted they use IND. That's how this is supposed to work and why someone would stay loyal.

Nickel-and-diming a client over DP makes you wonder what would happen if it was an exhaust.

OP glad atleast you're getting a replacement. Hope more companies like SOUL will come out with a DP for the M2.

Exactly! It's because Fabspeed Motorsport has shown they do not stand behind their product. If you were a manufacturer with full faith in your product you would prove to the customer your product wasn't defective rather than have the customer prove to you that your own product is broken. They literally had OP do 100% of the work and eat the costs associated and in the end OP proved it was broken and all they can do is ship him another one only if he pays shipping. L O L I hope more people see this thread when it comes up on google searches

Unfortunately because he used "FS" in the title instead of "fabspeed" it won't come up in results unless people search for "FS" which is unlikely.

Well we can keep this thread alive and near the top of the forum. When the M2 first came out Fabspeed replied regularly to threads like this. I'm guessing that now that N55 M2 modders are tapering off they don't care as much anymore...

I think that they're not active in this thread because it's hard to justify the expense and wasted time they put their customer through.

Another example for me to say it’s just not worth it with the risk of CELs, BMW warranty etc. to modify emissions or tune. These cars are beasts as designed. I can see a catback exhaust for sound but I won’t be doing anything else. At least not for street use.

Fabspeed 200 vs HJS 300 cell

My Fabspeed 200 cell started throwing cels so I ordered a 300 HJS through fabspeed and then swapped it out. Fabspeed honored their warranty and re cored my 200 cell. While not as beautiful in it's acoustic performance, it is a bit quieter which my neighbors like and there is very little (Sean WRT suggests there is no difference) difference in the power...and being in California, i suspect it will be a more long term solution as smog checks are not far off ...
