FABSPEED MOTORSPORT | M2 Exhaust Suite Development

We have officially begun the development process for the F87 M2! pup73 kindly volunteered his new pride and joy; a 6 speed Long Beach Blue M2. The heavens opened up as he arrived, but shes dry and inside now, ready to be torn apart and reborn faster and louder.

We are excited to develop premium performance products to enhance this Ultimate Driving Machine. We'll keep you updated as we dig in and pull out extra performance and sound. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions as we move forward. Stay tuned!

We do tune most cars, our tuner is highly proficient at ECU flashing, Accessports, JB Tuners, you name it. We will not be developing an ECU flash for the M2, but if anyone has a tuning device connected to any BMW we can certainly tune it in house on our Dynojet.

Our engineers determined that there wasn't much improvement to be had by replacing the mid-pipe. (BMW also did a nice job of hydro-forming the mid pipe around the rear axle for maximum clearance.) Our plan at this time is to develop a lightweight axle-back system similar to the Muffler Bypass Exhaust that we have had great success with on the M235i. This system would eliminate the valves and provide maximum performance and exhaust flow at all time. We are also wrapping up development on our downpipes, both with high-flow HJS cats and a catless variant.

If you have any other questions, feel free to send me a PM. I would be glad to assist you!

The 200-cell HJS cores are the same cores we use in our M235i downpipes which are well-known to be CEL free!

Great! What sort of hp/torque deltas do you get between catted and non-catted DPs with the M235i? Subjective exhaust sound differences?

Here are the dyno graphs for the Sport Cat and the Catbypass respectively:

There is definitely a difference is exhaust sound with the Sport Cat and the Catbypass. With the Catbypass Downpipe, you will get a lot more of the "popcorn" sound than the Sport Cat Downpipe.

Awesome! Thank you for the details. So performance wise cat and catless are very very similar. Mostly a sound thing. hmmmmmm

To a degree, yes. Once you get more in depth with modifying the car, the Catbypass pipe will eventually be the better option (HP wise) since it is completely unrestricted.
