Yes . . . do you think the dealer just decided to give up $7K, or whatever translates to the Euro CCB option cost? Nah, you paid for those gold calipers one way or another.

Anyway, we could go back and forth all day and not get anywhere. You said you like the way the gold calipers look compared to the red calipers. Great. I was simply stating there are a lot cheaper and 100% equally effective ways to get the ‘look’ you are after.

///AVM
When you just push them , some dealerships really make some good deals . I ofc know how much i paid on my car ! And yes , for 1k i went for the ccb without 2nd thoughts , just for the looks ..

Growing up (26) they were the first to do it from what I can tell.

I've always thought it look poser on any other vehicle.

Also just found out they basically do own that scheme! It's their wrc livery.

I think my number is $5k or less for the CCB option. If they could discount the CCB option to that level I'd probably check the box. But, if it were just a discount off the car, I'd probably take the standard brakes with the discount. It's more about what I'm getting for the money than the amount of money.

I don't like the yellow calipers with gold wheels as much as I like the red calipers with gold wheels, which is making it even more difficult to select CCB.

It will also come down to driving reviews. If the reviews come out as OMG the CS feels completely different on the street (in a good way) with CCB, then I'll most likely get them. If it comes out that you can only really tell on the track, then I won't. Improved street driving feel, plus less wheel cleaning is a win.

If the CS was primarily developed with the standard brakes, then I suspect that the weight savings of the CCB will be marginal. This development would also be why I would likely resist throwing in a lightweight battery. Shedding 40lbs on one corner of the vehicle would absolutely impact handling at speed since its at the outer edge of rotational center and likely change the moment of inertia. Folks modding an M2C can offset this with adjustable coilovers and corner balancing.

Edit: Just get a license plate M2 STI
Dave i think this option is more for the looks and less for the actual usage , how many of us , the owners of the M2 CS will actually NEED those ccb even in track ? I mean the normal ones should work as well ! For 8-10k option is a steal , but since dealers can discount them , why not getting them ? I got a perfect deal on the ccb , i wouldnt mind getting the red ones , but for the money & looks and as well for some other minor reasons (wheel dust) (more mileage ) etc i would ofc spec it with the ccb ! Would you give 90k to get that car , and not giving 91k with the ccb ? Lets say ok not 91k but 93-94k , again i would think about em .

I can see this as I've struggled a bit with the Subaru look. If it's the M2 poser edition because it isn't the blue/gold OG, but you dig it, then be happy with the mediocre.

Oh, I'm absolutely going to try to negotiate for them. I just don't believe I'll be able to get the car for less than MSRP.

Trying costs you nothing. They love to have your signature on the dotted line.

Purchasing using credit, with no cash down, is such an empowering feeling; it makes you feel like a king, that someone is actually entrusting you, with their money..

However, as a call girl recently reminded me; ain't nothing free in this world.. You pay for the privilege and it pays to look at the big picture.

I could easily sign and drive away with any automobile, under a 100k but if I'm not careful, It'll come back to bite me, everyday, for the next 60 months or so..

So I try to that take the instant gratification rush, out the equation and realistically look at overall sicker price to value, then figure out what it is going to cost me, in the long run..

I've seen that sign and drive mentality financially sink a lot of my friends and family but you know, humans.. They see it is as "The bank trust me, so they must figure I'm good for it." Which is so wrong, on so many levels.

Circumstances change everyday and cars are secured collateral, that can legally be recovered, at any time you default. You're only as good as your next payment.

TL : DR : Even automobiles with lofty price tags, like the CS, are real easy to physically obtain, via financing but keeping it is the hard part.

Look before you leap and don't be like my hood rich neighbor; with a 100k Beamer truck but can't afford to pay his parking tickets Rant over.

@Poochie very well said! Aston Martin is offering financing for what people pay for a M5. Getting cars X beyond your salary is really not that difficult and there are numerous financial models that can allow you to afford something above what you're capable of buying. Look at some of the YouTube stars that afford exotics or seemingly change their cars every 6 months. They're buying into short term exotic rentals essentially, but the cost for those X months are much higher if you were to stretch it to the end.

It's astonishing how expensive cars are these days. I think I read a year ago, the average car price was around $30K. But for auto nuts like us, when was the last time we went out and purchased a $30K performance car, new! Even a Honda Civic Type R is pushing $40K

The color is my jam. I think it's closer to 4s faster. I was unaware that there was a cup 2 (ZP) run flat tire.

Hey Dave, How did you get to 348 for US? Care to share any insight?

Thanks,

The new Euro Delivery policy has me considering the CS if I get a slot by 5/18.
No way, I would buy a new BMW w/o ED discount and experience.

My last two BMW's have been Euro Delivery and manual transmissions, I said as long as BMW keeps offering those items I would chose it over the competition.

Not sure I will ever own another new BMW, if I can not get Euro Delivery.

I'm absolutely gutted by this news as well. I've been planning to do this with the CS since the OG M2 came out. I don't think it's feasible to expect a slot in the next 13 days since the US allocations haven't even been announced yet. So sad.

I am number one at my dealer, but I was waiting for more news on the G80 and was leaning toward a G80 Euro Delivery with my kids, but European Delivery is so important to me that I may enter into a contract on the CS and issue that to BMW. Not sure.....but in reading the release they may honor the request?

I am stunned, it sounds nuts, but not sure I buy any new cars without some type of "experience"....might as well go with slightly used, makes much more financial sense. I always justified the new cars for the Delivery Experience.

I am number one as well at the store I work for. I'm going to look into some things tomorrow. If I'm reading the details correctly it would mean we need a 'pre-reservation' so I'll see what can be done there. I'm not optimistic since Leipzig isn't scheduled to open until the 18th and we already saw that ROW allocations were being made first. So if US allocations are going to be the later half of production (originally scheduled for March-Dec) it doesn't seem like lining up a Sept 2020 Euro Delivery would be very feasible.
I hear ya on the 'Experience' part of the purchase. It is very important to me too. I'm so bummed. I was holding out hope that production would be extended on the CS to match the end of the F87 line (June '21?) in which case Euro Delivery could have happened next summer.

Curious why you chose a BMW over a Porsche in the first place?

At first, I thought you would be interested due to the exclusivity factor and uniqueness of the M2CS. But you're now saying you're no longer interested in the M2CS because of no ED.
