Still waiting on my silver with black wheels. Good tip about the cc thing. I’ll have to make sure I update mine if needed.

This thread is for CS model models.

Here is a "dark grey" F87 and you can get creative with painting the wheels

I received my model today.Same issue with the brake callipers location. The carbon fiber roof is also very basic. It’s like a matte finish and you really can’t see the carbon fiber. You can see it in pictures but it is very subtle. The rest of the design details look good.It would have been nice to have a generic German white licence plate like they did on the original M2 model. This one is just plain black. The Misano Blue color looks good.

It looks great. I got a notification saying my delivery has slipped a month. So two months to go for me.

When did you get that notification?
Mine was October but I've not got any notifications.

Maybe by then, they'll fix the wheels and brakes issues

Wow,

I got a similar email about a month ago saying from August to October

Sadly, they won't be doing a M4CSL - apparently BMW refused to grant them a licence for it. It makes me wonder, if BMW is going to release it's own version at some point and charge an arm and a leg for it

BMW will never release their own version. The one with official BMW part numbers have always been either Kyosho or Minichamps.

In that case, it must be Kyosho then. It would be a great shame not to have any made for the M4 CSL

However, having checked those range, they only have the G82 M4 GT3 in their range

I was told that the brake calipers were a carryover concession from the m2C.

Yes i had sent Max an e mail and he also told me that. What does that actually mean? They appear to be in the correct location on the M2C model.I really don’t care that much anyway. It’s just a model. The rest of it looks OK.

In that case it's probably just an error that got propegated through the design. At the end of the day they are only $100 so I'm just leaving it alone. It's still a fun little model to sit on the shelf.

Here's a photo of the M2C model. I got one in the same spec as my old M2C. Blue brakes.

My Minichamps M2CS arrived today. I snapped a few comparison photos with the GT Spirit version. Several things that jump right out when looking at both. Of course, there is the notorious brakes issue, but the GT Spirit version has more apparent decals on the brakes. They are also different hues of blue (con't say which one is correct because my car is BSM). The GT Spirit is lighter blue with more metallic flakes than the Minichamps one. Also, the GT Spirit version has just a black roof while the Minichamps one has a faint version of a CF weave (albeit not the right pattern). They are both flawed in different ways, but either one is still nice to have (better than not having one).

I also have both the GT Spirit and Minichamps in Misano blue. They're both darker than the real car. The GT Spirit has M stripes and the M2 emblem on the seats, it also has better detail in the grille. In both the upper and lower you can see the silver radiators through the grilles.

The detail is somewhat simplified with the Minichamps one and the shape of the headlights is a bit off on the corners. But, that's a holdover from the earlier M2 diecast models. It's a mass-produced model after all, so perfection is not something I would expect.

My BSM arrived today, so I swapped the chassis to get the right wheel color to match my car. I looked at swapping the brake rotors around but decided against it to avoid risking damaging the attachment points. I think it looks good.

If anyone wants the MBM with gold wheels (call it a 1 of 1 collectible ), contact me offline (I'll sell it for cost + shipping).
I think I saw part number listed by Minichamps for both gold and black wheels. Very good idea what you did though to get your car accurately represented. I'm not sure I'm going to touch my axles to swap front/rear calipers either… Mine are Gold anyway so there is more work to do if I want it right…

I tried to delicately pull the front suspension apart but there was enough resistance that it felt like parts were glued together. The rear suspension sits under the exhaust, which is glued in place at 3 points. It was just easier to swap chassis than risk breaking the attachment points.

I received mine too. Misano blue with black wheels. I was bummed as I thought I picked the gold wheels to match my car.
Oh well, it’s good enough for the book case.
