Haha yeah, a salesman at Autoclassic on the test drive was telling me about how the suspension gets firmer when going into sport drivetrain mode and also how that car had the optional M seat belts. Had no clue haha.

I'm getting my run in service done soon at west coast so I'll ask them. I've never looked under the car specifically for them as always assumed we didn't have them, but I might have a look this weekend now the question has been revived!

Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks. Very much looking forward to it. Try running your vin through the decoder, interested to see if it indicates the OPF code or not.

These number will vary depending on the temp, dyno, fuel etc. but this is generally what people refer when they talk about S55 being underrated by BMW. So I wouldn't be surprised if a stock M2C puts down 390-400whp.
This is so convoluted is making me feel disgusted. There is a difference between whp and bhp. N55 BMW power they lists is 365hp/369tq at the engine. M2 makes between 330-340hp and 375-385tq at the wheels when tests on various dynos. Meaning, when you take a 15% drivetrain loss factor, the M2 makes MORE power than BMW advertised. Meaning 380-390hp and 431-442tq at the engine.

Also saying M3/M4 makes 440-445whp is just wrong. I've looked through every dyno test I could find on bimmerpost before writing this and there is only ONE dyno test showing the M4 ZCP making 441hp and that was proven to be a bad test because the dyno was correcting for heat that didn't exist that day. So it artificially added more power than there really was. The same dyno same day showed the M4 non-ZCP making 423hp. When every single other dyno test on bimmerpost shows it making much less power.

Though you're right that N55 has less headroom for additional cheap and efficient power gains than the S55, saying that one is more underrated than the other from BMW's advertisement is just plain wrong. They both deviate about the same from what BMW advertised.

Did I say N55 M2 was overrated? I do know the difference between bhp and whp as most on this forum but thanks anyway. I don't care if N55 makes "MORE" power than BMW's advertised number or not. My point was it's maxed out from the factory and yes, I still think S55 M2C, M3/M4 (zcp or non-zcp) is underrated by a higher margin. What is also interesting is that my post you quoted above is a year old and several M2C dyno runs shows that my guess about stock M2C was pretty close.

Also, here are some M3/M4 ZCP dyno results that you apparently couldn't find:

1) Thread link

2) Thread link

3) Stock M4 ZCP making 446whp on E30 (which corresponds to 94oct)

4) Another dyno graph of the same car in #1 above I believe making 444whp (youtube link):

In any case, every dyno is set up differently and some read higher than others. To be fair, N55 M2 did 353whp (rated at 365HP) on EAS dyno where M4 ZCP did 441whp (rated at 444HP) or M2C did 397whp (rated at 405HP). If we put all these cars on a Mustang dyno, the results would be much lower as I'm sure you know. However, looking at these results, I totally disagree with you in the sense that they are underrated by the same margin.

Edit: Added more links.

Hi Guys thanks for the detailed explanation and pictures. I can now confirm that the 2019 cars in India do not have OPF.

It's mid pipe time now.

So if there is no OPF the car would not go into limp mode upon removal of secondary cats and installation of after market midpipes right?
