Weird rattle from 2k RPM to 3k
Guys, what could this sound be? I reaallly hope it’s not turbo related . The car has only 15k miles and it wasn’t abused . Video here :
https://youtube.com/shorts/MvN21uaMFzs?feature=share (This is not my video but it’s the exact same sound I have, credits go to pall98) |

Problem is known. BMW needs to add an additional weight and clamp on the low pressure line for the ac system.

On the german f87 post we had a Driver which had the same noise, he got new engine from BMW but problem was still there. I found a video from an M3 Driver which had exact the same noise and it was the exact same problem on this M2C. This rattle is mostly present when AC is on. |

I've been asking this questions for months and going to multiple dealerships. Each and everyone said nothing was wrong but I disagreed and I was worried about catastrophic failures in the near future. Glad to know it's not an issue with the engine. |

FYI, I am pall98 from the original YouTube video posted... I took it into the dealer the other day and the tech claimed it was from my Eventuri air intake bumping against the carbon fibre strut brace, he put some foam in between it and claimed it went away. I have only driven it a little bit since then but it does seem to be gone, but it seemed to come and go previously. So I am not convinced yet that it is gone unfortunately.

Has anyone found a solution to this rattle? Is it normal? Experiencing the same thing
Please see video below.
Experiencing almost the same thing with my M2 LCI. When I apply gas between 2-3 RPM, there's always a small rattle then it goes away. Is this normal? Is there a fix I'm not aware of? Any help appreciated! https://www.dropbox.com/s/mm0nlna5ux...ie001.mp4?dl=0 |

My M2C is manual with the AutoSolutions Shortshifter and the AA EL midpipes. Can these mods cause it?

Had a discussion about this with another member here recently: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1932149 Dealer said everything was fine but don't know if i trust them about it. I had an oil change and it seemed to have gone away but not for long |

I don't even know if it's even an issue at this point since so many people have it and yet there are no updates/answers/fixes. Thanks for the link, always good to have more sources. I wish a BMW-specialist would comment on this so we have some more closure. |

No, don’t think so. For me it happens only when the AC is on so I think it’s the low pressure line for the Ac system. For your understanding, it’s a like a hose that moves under vibration and causes sound, but nothing to worry about. By the way, I don’t hear the sound anymore for some reason and I didn’t do anything. |
