Cleaning dark chrome stock M2C exhaust tips?

Does anyone know if it's safe to use something like P21S metal polishing soap on these? I loved that product with my Z4M's chrome tips.

I am not sure if these are true black chrome or have some kind of coating like PVD that makes these dark and if it will be damaged by a metal polish.

It will be fine.

Rule of thumb in detailing always start with the least aggressive method for the desired cleaning area and always test an area before fully going at it.

Just came across this thread and wondered if you tried P21S...I still use this on my Z4M coupe and E39 M5, but have not used it on the the M2C. I treat the outside of the M2C's exhaust tips like I do the rest of the car; they do not seem to need to metal polish like the Z4M/M5. I would use the PS12 for the inside of the tips, but they still look pristine after wiping them down regularly with a quick detailer. I think the PS12 is the best for metals that need to shine.

Nope, I haven’t had to try yet either. I’ll let you know if I feel adventurous and do.

I wouldn’t do it … done it in the past on a f30 sport line with black exhaust and the result was totally not ok …
