Devo is right. The 718 GT4 does not have the GT3 engine. People have been complaining constantly about the GT4 Carrera engine. On the Porsche blogs many are saying that they are keeping their old GT4. They are already talking about the GT4 RS which may not come out until 2021 or later. M2 CS is faster than the 718 GT4 with the DCT.

The GT4 irks me with its inter-galactic gearing

Can't even enjoy a full 2nd gear blast without fear of losing my license. I wouldn't buy if it's mainly for street driving. CS all the way or get a 997 GT3 which is more special than a GT4 (981 or 781)

Why couldn't they slap that rear wing on the M2??? That is the one item i was really hoping would find its way from the concept car. It's ripe for it. Wider rear fenders would have been fun too.

I know several people who were determined to get the 718 GT4, but backed out since the release and now also consider the M2 CS option, especially if the base price would be €80K-€85K.

That would have been killer, indeed.

Well, as someone accurately coined it early 2018:

I am on this boat, sort of.

Planning on going from the 981 GT4 (weekend car) + Civic (daily) to a CS (daily + weekend).

Note: I love my GT4 but I want to have fun with a car everyday!

Could you make the argument that the 911 is too composed to be fun as a DD? I'm glad to read your opinions on the M. Especially the honest comparison with P cars.

Yes I'm interested in a Porsche 911 comparison too. Such as why would you consider the CS over a 992 Carrera S.

Albeit less useful, what are everyone's thoughts on the C8 Vette? It will absolutely DOMINATE the M2CS in every single performance metric for far less money (And the G80M3 for that matter)

I *HATE* the center console and the wheels on the C8s though...but its going to be a mid-engine monster

I don't like to go off the CS topic much, but I'll chime in. My spec for the C8 was just under 80k, so cost is basically moot. It only has two seats. In my experience some high performance cars aren't much fun at low speed. (Ftype SVR is my reference). No one is aware of the C8 kinks, M2CS will likely not have kinks. My wife wants me to get a C8, and thinks the M2 looks like a piece of crap. I can enjoy the CS with my kids, no so much with C8. If the CS turns out to be a bad decision, then I'll likely get a C8GS. I'm interested in smiles, not bench racing. I'm pretty sure I've convinced myself to get the CS even if the price is higher than I anticipated.

If you're looking to impress others or get some attention, then I'd steer away from the CS. If you're looking for inner joy, then I suspect there will be few cars like this that can do it.

M2 CS: a familiar face, that much is true, but this time around with a more intimidating, menacing frown, chin and muscle mass. With its proper dimensions, 'cool cat' stance and CS paraphernalia, the M2 CS oozes charisma, definitely.

Let's wait for more feedback about its driving dynamics, but considering its DNA and size, it looks like the driving fun stars are aligned with this new kid on the ///M block.

Too composed to be fun as a DD? The new 911 (992) is too composed period. Very soft, so many nannies I've lost count, and dare I say it...very quiet exhaust note. It hurts my heart to say this, but the 911 has become a two-door Panamera. And we haven't even gotten into price. One fellow on the RL 992 board asked why anyone would get a 992 C2S over a 991.2 GT3 Touring since the pricing on the 992 C2S is so high. It's a great question. But, pricing aside, I have no interest in the 992. One of the main reasons I went hard after a GT3 Touring is because I believe it will be the last 911 that is true to the model's ethos.

I'm starting to see Artemis drop some cue's that are making me excited about this thing being the real deal.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt I'll get an allocation.

Question tho....and I posed this before with not much feedback....with 2200 units expected, how many will be allocated to the USA?

I believe I recall Artemis stating what the US market allocations were out of these numbers:

  • M4 DTM: 200 scheduled - 200 built - out of production (see here);
  • M4 CS: 3000 scheduled - 2043 built (June 2019 figure) - still produced (see here);
  • M3 CS: 1200 scheduled - 1263 built - out of production (see here);
  • M2 CS: 2200 scheduled - production from March 2020 onwards (see here).
From the M4 GTS brochure (see here): "700" became 803.
Attachment 2138737
Attachment 2138738
But with that volume of M4GTS made the store I work for received 1. Back in 2011 we received 3 out of 740 US 1M's. I'm not sure how many F80 CS we got but I'm guessing somewhere between 5-10. So for 2,200 M2CS units worldwide I'm guessing we'll get 3 or 4?

I'm also reading between the lines. Excited to see the reveal in November!

I'm curious to know, for those who saw it in the flesh, thoughts on Misano Blue? (never-mind the gold wheels). I keep seeing in on an Z4 M40 that we have and I go back and forth. Hoping it looks as good as I imagine!

If my tuned OG is this good, im sure this cs version will be very special and head turning car with all those goodies

Who ever gets car, i would upgrade to the M performance fenders and put a sick swan neck wing on the back and call it a day!
