I agree, the original first year M2s were a really good deal at MSRP. They just kept raising the price up several times. For what it is it's still a great car, just not as much of a steal.

The exec package of the M2 competition actually seems like a decent value.

It seemed like an expensive add on for the OG M2.

If you absolutely want a convertible, you might be stuck with getting another M4. If the price is no issue, I doubt you'll want to drive an M240i after tooling around in an M4.

I actually just had the 240M as a loaner for a couple of days, and I was impressed honestly. But again. The interior is poor

From the day the M2 Competition was announced it has been confirmed that it is replacing the M2. N55 engine is no longer allowed to be sold because it doesn't meet new emissions regulations around the world so that engine is gone and along with it went any reason to keep around a non-S55 M2 in the 2019 lineup.

This is exactly why I have been saying that the OG M2 is NOT going to depreciate " like any normal car"... There are only 6 thousand of them in the US!

It might have a slight lag initially after the release of the M2C. I agree though that in general the M2/M2C line of cars will have a slower depreciation curve than their bigger brothers. That is if you go by how the M2 has done in the last 3 years.

Got my 2017 M2 w/ 6MT and executive package for around $51-52k so the same build for me on a M2C is $9-10k more. I did sneak in before the pre-LCI price bump and obviously before the LCI price bump. Also just snuck in on that AARP fleet discount pilot program they ran for a few months in 2017. So for me the price jump is not worth it, but if I had an LCI I might feel a little differently.
