Wheels Stolen!
This day just turned sour! Stepped out to lunch a few hours ago and found the wheels on my car gone - this was within a 3-4 hour period from having arrived at work.
Been dealing with police and insurance. BMW roadside assistance is trying to find me some wheels that fit so they can get the car on a tow truck. Security at my job's parking garage is obviously substandard, but I wish I didn't have to find out this way. Please keep an eye out for a full set of four 437M wheels with Michelin PS on the out of South Florida. Those could be mine! Last edited by Rodan; 05-25-2018 at 02:17 PM.. |

No wheels locks. I'm kicking myself over not having bought any before this. In hindsight it seems like pretty bad oversight on my part.
And yes, the rear rotors are touching the ground. |

Sorry to see this, man.
I had some wheels stolen off an old Porsche 914 a bit back. The damage from dropping it on the ground was as bad as the cost of the new wheels. Your parking garage have cameras?

Daylight in a parking garage? Geez. Hopefully there is some video footage somewhere.

Sorry this happened to you ...
I had the same thing happen to me in a company ramp with my daily driver. Instead of the wheels, the bad guys smashed the windows and ripped the guts out of the interior. Of course, I was parked way away from all the door-dingers - and also out of site of the security cameras and the majority of the traffic going in and out all day, so no one saw a thing. The police suggested I not park in the same spot every day to create the appearance that I may be in and out of the car multiple times during the day, because the miscreants obviously knew my schedule and habits. |

Awful! Very sorry. Wish you lives closer as I have a set of OEM wheels I my garage just hanging out. I'd absolutely loan them to you.
Sadly, a lot of these crooks are affiliated with body shops so the parts never show up on E-Bay or Craigslist. They get used by crooked body shops to repair unwitting customer cars. On a separate but related note, are the BMW wheel locks you can pick up at the dealer worth a damn? I have them but they dont look like they are unique in any way. Just a round exterior head with internal splines and a pin. Looks like the socket "key" is probably the same for every single set they sell. |

That's just wrong!!
Maybe you can upgrade. Get a set of BBS or 763M wheels. Might take some of the sting away.

I had a friend who bought 6 different sets of locking lug nuts, mixed them up and installed them randomly on all the wheels, so an inexperienced thief would get frustrated and go away to find an easier mark. |

That is just so wrong and painful in so many ways. Hope the thief or thieves are dumb and caught.
Good luck getting things sorted quickly. |

My 2017 M2 came with them from the factory; I had not asked for them, was not told they were on the car, there was no charge for them and I didn't even notice them until I got home and found the empty package for them with the keys in the glove box. Glad I have them now - I should probably keep the key for them at home rather than in the car maybe...

I bet most of us here have had one or two bits of bad luck. I hydrolocked a ZO6 once, if that makes you feel any better. You'll be back in action in no time! Still sucks

What a horrible way to start the weekend. So sorry OP. To take the sting off, online shop for some aftermarket wheels. Will insurance pay the MSRP of the factory rims plus tires? Easy way to get into some BBS or similar.
