Great work Reppucci!

I created a mini pie chart to visualise the results:

Based on data collated up to: 04-Nov-2016

For those interested in percentages, it works out at:

EH91 Euro LHD M2 - 39%
EH92 Euro RHD M2 - 31%
EH93 NA M2 - 29%

There are online databases where you can obtain build info by entering a VIN. Pretty simple, just treat the last 6 digits like a serial number and go fishing.

India, Thailand and a number of former British colonies as well. I don't know that BMW has much of a presence in Japan so probably not any sold there.

Pretty big in Japan.

We make a lot of RHD 3 Series for them here in South Africa. Together with the many LHD we make for the USA.
Japan got 30 M4 GTS, which is a large allocation. Same amount as UK

That number is total. Includes preproduction, MY16 , MY17 and..... (I can't resist) perhaps even the various spotted presumed s55 test mules!

Sometimes you really need to go DEEP SEA Fishing! The M2 VINS are not ALL sequential! Many jumps.

Yep, I'd tried a similar thing after that early list was posted! Keep it up as it's interesting info.

Yeah. It all started with forum fellow ehoms posting a couple of VINs of M2 pre-production cars shipped to the US. While searching on a website providing company profiles and public import/export info from Bill of Ladings, he bumped by coincidence into at least 10 pre-production M2 cars arrived in the US and subsequently posted that info. Serendipity !

I noticed a sequence pattern in the VINs reported on the Bill of Ladings docs, so had a closer trial-and-error look in a VIN decoder:

And to build on this when I got my MY16 VIN it was non sequential so I was able to go back from my VIN and forward from Artemis 's list, compare build dates and splice the VIN lists to develop the MY16 NA production list and "build sheets" (color, tranny, other options, etc..).

The power of a forum like this!

http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1272805

Since than I have been able, as I have previously mentioned elsewhere on this forum, with help from Artemis and others, to find the VIN jumps in the Euro RHD and LHD Vins.

There is a lot of data, still some time until build sheets are looked at and compiled but I promise, when the day arrives, to mention ALL who were critical to getting the FULL list!

May need .... actually WOULD need and appreciate.....some help with downloading "build sheets". If interested please send me a PM. I can then provide you with a sequence of several VIN numbers to download and how best to prepare the information. This would be more effective than 10 different forum members trying to download ALL the "build sheets".

Interesting. Already almost achieved the 1M production figures....but definitely not with same break-down.

4155 LHD (UR91)
1204 RHD (UR92)
983 LHD (UR93) USA/Canada

6342 1M total

Here you are!

2865 Total North American M2 production through 4/5/2017 (USA and Canada)

714 MY2016 (includes all preproduction M2's)
2151 MY2017

I do not have euro LHD and RHD numbers (yet)

North American production is running about 300 M2 per month.

At some point I will have breakdown as I did for 2016 production;

i.e. color options canadian monthly production...but that may be a while

One of my favorite threads to track over the past 6 months or so. Thanks for the work; many of us find it interesting!
