Why is there some magic combination with the S55 and DCT. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

I find that the S55 in my M3 is much more “on and off” than the linear feel of the N55. That together with the extra torque of the S55 may make the manual a bit harder to handle than in the OG M2.

You got a great deal. I'm not trying to compete, but I did get $3000. off because of ED pricing and an extra $200. to go towards my airfare. Then $500 for BMWCCA rebate. So on my 2019 M2C car that I will be able to drive for several months even before 2019 comes around, I'm paying $56,300 plus destination and tax. I go to Europe every year anyway so that is not an up charge. Plus all the goodies that the M2C offers. Yikes, not bad huh?

I guess if you compare it to a M-Car.

I guess it depends on perspective - I can see someone new to the brand or RWD in a relatively small package liking one, but I hated my 235 and thought it was not as good a car as either 135 I had before it...drove me out of the brand, to be honest - and into a 981.

Having owned a 1er I understand but the engine in the M240i far trumps the factory tuned M235i engine. ***Now back to your regular scheduled thread!

I know I'm in the minority, but I can't believe my eyes when people say that they like the 437's better than the gorgeous 788's!!

In my eyes, the 788's are one of the most beautiful wheels ever made! A big part of the reason I think the M2C is worth the premium over the M2 (that and the S55 and the seats)

Only downside is that cleaning them is going to be a bitch

Euro delivery sounds like a great experience, plus with the extra +40 HP/Brakes/Seats, you're definitely getting additional value for the additional money. Sounds like the difference between our two builds and deals is $7000 if we spec them both at the same color and equip both with the Exec pack or not (apples to apples build).

I ran this cost/benefit analysis many times back in May, with the info available at the time indicating that the Comp would cost me an additional $7k to $9k (if the Fleet Discount went away, and I wouldn't be doing ED). For me, for the extra dollars and unknowns at the time, I grabbed one off the showroom floor and it's been great so far!

I'm with you and much prefer the look of the 788 over the 437 design. And, yes cleaning with absolutely suck.

The 666Ms are similar in that way - I am a bit OCD on the cleaning side, and had never had a wheel I couldn't clean sufficiently by hand...until the 666Ms. But they make so many brushes and whatnot now, it really isn't as noticeable as you might think.

I got a couple of those brushes and have a dedicated wheel bucket...really cut the time down.

They will come in handy for the 788s.

Completely with you. The 437s, fixation on Smurf blau which shrinks the car and ye olde fashioned chrome ringed grille were what put me off most on the previous model. Fantastic car to drive though.

Interesting, I'm the opposite. 437m are the nicest wheels I've seen on an M and the "regular" grille is much nicer than the new grille which looks weird and out of place on a BMW.

Well whatever, as long as I buy the car I like and you buy the one you like everything is dandy.

Same deal as the dumb S52b32US M Coupes vs the awesome S54 M Coupes. I had the dumb one, but it had the same basic depreciation curve as the cool one until the greater quantity of dumb ones came into play. Roughly 2,600 S52's vs 800 S54's in the US. The S55 M2C will always be worth more than a similar N55 one, but it likely won't be a large differential unless there just end up being significantly fewer M2C's.

I thought about this too.. its a shame that there giving the comp the "upgraded m3/m4 seats" but still offering them in dakota leather

maybe its just their way of trying to preserving the previous m2 value

Wheels aren't that bad but definitely not very "M" looking. Either way these things will be great in the used market. Buy 6MT people!!
