Bought an F8X switch so they illuminate at night. They're just aesthetically there for now but I'm going to either code or wire them to my exhaust controller so they open/shut my valves

Is there no way to code M1 and M2 settings after flashing the car?

There has to be a way to do this.

There's definitely a way to program them but the challenge is knowing where to look and how to do it. It would probably take a lot of digging and some trial and error. If that proves to be too difficult I may just wire the board from one of my valve controller remotes to the board controlling those steering wheel function keys and place it somewhere nearby like where the wheel vibrating module normally goes. Problem is It would still be battery powered unless we found an appropriate place to draw power from as well. I'm really not sure of anything yet we're going to experiment a bit and weigh options. Obviously coding would be the ideal solution.

Nice. So these light up at night?? You didn't need to do anything extra for that?
Also, at the very least would you be able to have them act in the same way the rocker switch by the shifter does? (i.e. M2 = up through the driving modes - comfort, sport, sport+ - and M1 = down through the driving modes)

Yes, they light up because I replaced the oem switch with an M3/M4 specific one. No coding was required for that, just plug and play replacment.

Theoretically you can make them do anything but assigning any new functions to the buttons (regardless of what they are) presents an identical problem. How do I make these buttons function outside of their original design? Can it be done in ESYS or do I need to use other program(s) like ISTA+. What values do I have to change and what are they? These are questions I don't have the answers to at the moment. Can it be done? Probably. How? I have no idea.

Can you code the M1 & M2 buttons to actually function, for drive modes?

I sent IND my two front mats and for $148 (including return shipping) I got just the fronts embroidered. My iPhone pic makes the colors look a little washed out. In person they're quite vibrant. I think they came out great
