Ah, the modern world. "I like having a heated steering wheel." Followed by, "No one needs a heated steering wheel, you're wrong!".
I love the internet. And not just for the cat pictures. Seriously, the package is worth it if you care about one or two things in it. If you don't care about any of it, you probably shouldn't order it. Your car, your money, your choice (assuming you order it or can find the option you want). |

You def can and I'm down to help, but it's not like I'm going to do it for free. The exec pkg was your one freebie.

I got the exec package really because of the headlights. Plus I’ve spent far more than 1200 bucks on way dumber items in my life, so in the end I think this was a good choice. But really, the exec package changed my life. I never knew I needed heated steering until I got the car. The heated steering wheel kept my fingers nice and toasty in the brutal San Diego winters where it occasionally gets below 60 degrees. True story: I also have the M Performance wheel and I switch it out every 6 months just so I can have that heated wheel during the frigid months.

None of this really matters.
Fact is, a huge percentage of buyers want the Ex pkg...even if you don't, so spend the $1200 to get it back in the end. It'll be a deal breaker for more buyers than you think. And remember the options rule of used car sales. When people buy used cars they normally want EVERY option they can get. And it's simply because they couldn't afford to buy it new with all the toys, so when they look for it used they want it optioned out. |

I didn't care about the adaptive headlights but I did want the heated steering wheel. In the EU so could spec it by each option.

The more fervently exec package buyers try to convince you just how important it is, the less inclined I am to get it. Using phrasing like, "it's a must", "no brainer", "fact is", has convinced me to 100% NOT get exec package, whereas before this thread I was about 60/40 about my decision. After reading the responses, one would think if they don't have the exec package, the earth will spin off its axis.
There's definitely some aggressive advice giving, why not just leave it as "headlights and heated options are cool, if you like the aesthetic or need/want them then order it since it's not too expensive". It's like we are having a discussion about a highly charged topic like the election or abortion, not headlights and heated steering wheels LOL. I'm saying this, and I'm an angry, aggressive New Yorker. Maybe I'm just expressing this opinion bc I don't think it's idiotic to not want exec pack, or maybe the day my car gets delivered without adaptive headlights, the apocalypse will in-fact come to pass. |

The argument of "I didn't get the executive pkg because it would be one less thing to break" is weak. You're buying a car nowadays with more tech than ever before. Also, the chances of the headlights breaking or heated wheel/seat malfunctioning is rare. Most likely the original owner will replace the car before it even reaches 7 years. It's one of those things it may sound good to say, but completely irrelevant in practice...

I think OP was asking pros and cons of some options and if anyone regretted getting them or wished they had/hadn't. I don't think the point was to convince them that they're wrong and you're right. But I do respect your opinion, maybe I misconstrued the post. |

I just watched Doug Demuro review the X5M Competition. With the exec package on that car, they get heated and cooled cup holders! I think we got robbed.

I have always purchased CPO bmws and was very interested in my buddies for sale, 2018 M2. It drove great and only had 15k miles and had some fantastic mods. I was a little on the fence because my local dealer had a brand new 21 M2C which has more power new seats, hadn't been driven, etc..... Well I was just gonna pull the trigger on my buddies until realized it did not have the exec package. Despite the differential in cost of used with warranty vs. new, the lack of the exec package pushed the used M2 into the 'too many downsides' category, and I decided just to pull the trigger on the new SO M2C. Can't say that I regret it!
