M340i with a fender bender (fixed) 42000 trade value.
Found a Chevy dealer in a rural area with a m2 comp 2020, hock silver with tons of performance parts and only 1700mi on it, 55k.
Full factory warranty, it was a huge upgrade and a no brainer, highly recommend the used route as it saved my ~10k
Did you even negotiate on that?
I did, to an extent, I was quoted at the local bmw dealer who offered 2k less on my m340i.
Of course being a new car, I ate the depreciation some on it but after having a hit and run I feel fortunate to get what the Chevy place gave me. Also it was 10,059mi on it!

The m2 had so many extras unaccounted for though, the dealer literally said "we're Chevy, you probably know more about this car than us."
It worked out well and I financed some via a credit union so they weren't enthused about that either.

I suppose. I’m not sure what invoice is on this car.

I don't think invoice means much. I think it's best to go by the market and what is the going discount rate. BMW gives incentives to dealers that are unpublished.

Exactly. there is a lot of factors of costs for dealers. For example, my area dealers who have inventory are dealing, but go an hour away and they arent moving much on M cars that have been sitting around for a while.

I always figured that invoice was the absolute lowest and that was the starting point to use when negotiating. If you can go lower then how do you start negotiating? Do you take a guess at a low value and hope the dealer doesn't laugh at you?

Yeah, pretty much. I've been laughed at by the dealer, only to be called back a month later and given the car at an even lower price. Invoice means nothing to me.

I personally use the forums as the gauge and go with what percentage I want off. Typically, I start at 10% and go from there. Now where the forum comes in handy is seeing whether people are getting more than 10% and I can adjust accordingly.

I bought my old M235i at 13.5% below invoice. Just one year before that they were going over MSRP. This seems to be a trend with BMWs.

Since the M2C model is coming to close, I'm hoping they throw in such option as red seats and Adaptive Suspension to entice the few hold-outs, such as myself.

If I could negotiate a 2021 model down to 60k w/ sunroof, OTD, that would be divine. 🙏

If BMW's history has taught me anything is end-of-model is the best time to purchase a car.

Here's to hoping..

I had this thought myself, but pulled the trigger on a 2020.

My theory was that I didn't see the BMW engineers wasting a whole lot of time on a car that's going to be a mort in a year. There was a carryover from 19 to 20 (I don't think anything changed?) and I'm sort of expecting the same thing (barring a few cf widgets here and there) for 2021. To change up to something like adaptive suspension for the last model year seems sort of a stretch from an engineering resources standpoint.

At least that's what I'm telling myself.

Your guess is good as mines but I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be some discernible changes.

The M2 CS already has Adaptive Suspension, it's just a matter of rearranging some options to add it to Competition model.

Or maybe is just wishful thinking on my part but guess we'll see..

Honestly, how hard is it to add seats with different colors and new additions, especially when the parts are already there!

We have similar tastes my friend. I'm hoping for all you listed plus $60K OTD.

When do you think the 2021 model will be released? Sometime in June?

Does Adaptive suspension really make a difference? I have heard you don't feel the difference between settings. Plus it's another point of failure if you want to keep the car long term. For collectible cars they change it back to steel springs if I recall

September is usually the new model year typically begins, so some time around then.

Yes that's true. They make it to the US by boat by late August or September.

On both my wife's F80 nor my previous F80 ZCP did we feel any difference driving between the modes in normal daily driving or canyon carving. The only time we notice some difference is in AutoX where it feels a bit flatter on some corners (but without the right camber setting for AutoX it may have felt more placebo than actual).

Nothing unusual about 7% at this time of year. I got a similar deal on my M2 a week ago
