Megan Racing Exhaust

Does anyone have a review of the Megan Racing Exhaust? It seems to be the most affordable option at around $800 for the cat-back system. Poking around youtube I only found one guy who's installed it. A search here on the forums didn't return much info.

This system deletes the exhaust flap operation, which I suspect is one way to keep the costs down. Any downsides to this? Other than being louder all the time.

Thanks,
Matt

Haven't heard in person but on video it sounds really nice! I was looking into it but bit the bullet on the m performance unit, someone is selling a m performance exhaust rn for 1000$ used I'd go with that if not.

It's a good option for the price but it won't sound nearly as nice as the more expensive systems.

Kind of a duff name tbh 'Megan'. Would not sell well in UK!

Megan Racing has been around for quite a while in the Asian import scene. I wasn't even aware they were doing BMW now.

What does Megan mean in the UK?

Is it like how a hood is a bonnet, a bathroom is a loo, fries are chips, etc?

Maybe it's like what "Karen" is in the US. Karen likes to sport the "I need to speak to the manager" haircuts :

Megan’s kind of known in the “JDM” scene for copying other companies’ designs and undercutting them. Agency Power is another that comes to mind.

All that said I’ve been considering this muffler. I want something lighter and louder that eliminates a lot of the tubing nonsense that a lot of these more elaborate exhausts have.

Doesn't mean anything it's just to me a regional name that wouldn't work well.

E.g. your Axe brand deodorant is Lynx over here

Back when I had a 2012 535i it came with a Megan exhaust from the dealer. The car was a year old and the original owner installed it.
It sounded really nice to me and looked good with an M5 diffuser.
