Haha, you crazy. I don't think you can go wrong with this car. Congrats!

Import slated for February!?. Whoa
And still considered a 2020 model?.

Would the later deliveries equate to a '21 model year, or is that not a thing / an exception based on Covid?

As best as I can ascertain, irrespective of when they are delivered, they're all calcified as a 2020 build/model

If you intend driving it from CA to CO, what an amazing trip that would be to chronicle.

Seems strange that BMW is sending more to the states when you can find them very readily at MSRP and I received two offers at a discount, one which I grabbed. If anyone is in the NJ NY area I can get you a discount at a dealer in NJ. Please contact me personally. My number is (201) 264-7562

Well, the point is they're selling in the U.S., even if there are a handful around the country available, but fewer as a percentage than most makes/models. I have to believe BMW's production run is defined and limited by time; they're going to produce what they can within the production window. The U.S. is probably their best bet for selling most of the unallocated. Available and selling more or less at MSRP (with a few a bit above and a few a bit below) is only a good thing for BMW.

I agree with the previous post ^. I am following the market and threads very closely hoping for the market to soften and getting into one of these at discount early next year. But that's also a gamble and I am perfectly aware that I may not be able to get one ........ I congratulate all of you that have ordered your vehicles.

Would love to but last time I tried the person was able to work out things with local store. There was a ridiculous mark up of 10k. Member here was able to get that down to msrp.

Who knows which cars are modifiable at this point.

Are you trying to do PCD ? Are you open to paying for shipping. How far away from LA do you want to be?

Time to get smiling and dialing.

Hi- is your m2 cs sold ?
Is is modifiable ?
Will you sell at msrp or below .

“Below” is where you may stumble right now... maybe later after the cars arrive, you will fare better in that department.

Sorry if this is of no help, it’s just my opinion

Ours is AW and we never had the option to change anything after it was allocated months ago.

It was originally intended for one of my M5 owners who has subsequently backed-out for family reasons and pandemic business downturn. Open to anyone who might want it—in Virginia, or elsewhere. We have never marked cars up beyond MSRP and have already turned down offers from other dealerships trying to corner the market on them. Happy to have it go to an actual retail customer who will drive the damn thing!!!

The hot ticket at this moment seems to be the XB7 Alpina. Who would have thought?

Good for you guys. I appreciate you not sending your allocations to places that will mark them up.

That xb7 is nice. The x5 in general seems to be getting rave reviews.

Where are the USA M2cs numbers these days?

Last I heard they increased allocation from 466 to an additional 150 or so?

I think a lower profile was necessary, but this is what I will add. My SA confirmed an extra 100 allocations on top of the 466. It will be interesting to see if all of these get produced, or if more get released. Remember that this car isn't a limited numbered run. It's limited by production capacity. They only make so many per day and the window is closing. I doubt they will tell ordering customers to piss off so they can build more CS cars.

Adding to what Dave is saying... Keep in mind that it's going to be nearly impossible for them to drop more than 750 to the US given the amount of time remaining (I did the math somewhere else in a thread). So whether it is 466, 566, 666, or 766... it is what it is... and even at those number there are not many around. As we've all said repeatedly too, buy it because you like it. Not for trying to make money - you'll make more in stock markets almost any way you cut it and no matter how this car does. So ignoring the money factor, any car there is less than 1000 of in the US will be rare to see, full stop.

564 is still the number from what I can see. Some of these are falling off the list now that they are to dealers and being recorded as sold to BMW.

302 have made it through production as of this morning:

Misano: 43%
Hockenheim: 27%
Alpine: 14%
BSM: 16%

DCT: 26%
CCB: 33%

...please don't make this front page news...

More than a quarter of all M2 CS worldwide: that's more than what was initially scheduled for the US.

That begs the question: dividing the 2200 M2 CS cake differently (more allocations for the US) or making the 2200 M2 CS cake bigger ?

If it's re-allocation of the 2200 M2 CS cars, then that could be an indication that:
  • either demand in Europe did not meet initial projections (+ likely also part of the equation: the weeks-on-end production stop because of the COVID-19 lockdown, impacting the March to September 2020 time window scheduled for production of EURO-spec M2 CS cars);
  • or demand in the US is that strong that the worldwide M2 CS allocations schedule was revised, favoring the US (where car taxes are lower and a "limited edition" ploy is usually more esteemed than in Europe).
Anyways, this thread (and this thread) shows that quite a number of US-spec M2 CS cars have not been spoken for and that some dealers want markups.
