Understandable. However it was info gathered using their proprietary system and it's reasonable that they didn't want it made public. So, not upset at their request.

I never thought they were listening or that they would care.

In the end better to back down as they hold all of the cards, ahem, Allocations!

I'll still try to provide as much info as I can going forward.

From info obtained back in May about number of US allocations. Spot on for current numbers.

Germany - 500
Belgium / Lux - 131
Canada - 120
UK - 104
Australia - 70
France - 70
Japan - 60
Spain - 47
Italy - 44
Netherlands - 30
Bulgaria - 4
US - 435 [348 + 87(# of high volume M dealerships)]*
China -
Russia-
UAE-
South Africa - 30
Switzerland -
Ireland -
Cyprus - 1
Mexico -
South America (Brazil) - 20

Total: 1,566* / 2,200 (maybe?)

It's looking like the original leaked rumor of 350 to 450 units is correct for the US. I get a range of 435 to 463.

That puts the updated number to 1596. Still 600 units shy of 2200 units. Im certain this list is missing some countries.

Suspicion is that the plant will produce US models through the plant shutdown in October, which likely leaves enough capacity to make more units, but the 466 US allocation is right on from the source that stated everything is on track with no changes to production.

We think it's the only round of allocations because the numbers are consistent with previous rumor, but more in the works also makes sense if BMW wants to hit 2200 units because I think they are shy of this figure. My guess is that they would evaluate markets that want more, and if there is still production capacity at the end of the run before 12/31 they would pump more out.

It's still comes down to production capacity. This plant is still producing cars that sell in much higher volume.
Ok, so to complicate things.....

I had a talk with my SA this evening before he left work.....he works at one of the local BMW Dealerships in the DC Metro area which includes Maryland and Virginia. Please don't ask me which!

Well, he told me his dealership received 7 allocations for the M2cs????? He double ck'd while I was on the phone and that's what was in the system. How is this even remotely possible? He couldn't explain?

I'm deciding on whether to pull the trigger on one or not? I'm definitely on the fence!

Thinking the whole limited edition/production thing is going to go out the window???

Is it possible that one owner has multiple dealerships. For instance Hendrick BMW of NC received two allocations. They have two dealerships in town. There could also be some dealing already behind the scene where they have traded inventory for more CS cars. Or they straight up got 7. In that area could they be military or other special program cars?

It's still limited, but don't waste your time if expecting it to increase in value. It's going to be tough to beat for fun factor and four seats. However, there are more practical 4 seat performance cars, and more capable used cars in the price range.

There are those that place more value within a dollar, and those that place more value within a minute. I believe the time spent within the CS will be very full of enjoyment.

Yes, I definitely know what you mean about the dealerships owning more than 1....however, that's not the case around here. They are all owned by different groups.

It's really a head scratcher for me? I just can't believe it...but, he literally ckd and double ckd and called in his manager who verified!

So, I dunno? I'm tempted to call around the other local BMW Dealerships to see what they got?

Yes, totally agree that getting a M2cs should be done for pure enjoyment and not in hopes of turning a profit down the road!

My family owns a BMW store and we just got our allocation in. Ours is all blocked/stuck but our rep said we should be able to modify it soon. I let the 1 series M get away, I'm not letting it happen with this one. The M2 comp is the perfect car to me, so this is a no brainer.....

Dropping off deposit for mine tomorrow morning! Dealer got allocation today. My wife approves!

Misano Blue
Black wheels with PSC2
DCT

My 1M has become a dedicated track car, and the M2CS will take its place as a 3-season weekend cruiser until the 1M gets tired, probably in 10 years. By then, I'll be 57 and will be happy to retire my left foot from track duty.

That's what I want to know. The dealer I've ordered my M2C from has 2 allocations and they apparently aren't sold and the owner wants $20k over...please. It's not that special.

The price is still blocked for everyone through our system.

And yes we are marking them up pretty hefty. One is accounted for and I don't want to say what that customer agreed for on the mark up.

Let me take a wild guess; he overpaid between 20 to 25k above sticker, right? 'Wink' emoji if I'm within the ballpark 😉

No doubt, it's an awesome, all-round package and one I would not hesitate to buy, had I been in the market but in all honesty, you really must have more money than brains, if paid a penny over sticker for one, in what is practically a parts-bin mashup of an M2C and M4 with a Competition package but I guess that's the magic of marketing.

The whole appeal of the 1M, which we can't help be compare this to, is for what you had gotten for the money.

For under 50k USD, you had a bite-size, full-bread, bespoke-ish M car, for what felt like the bargain of the decade. It almost came off as potential buyers was getting over on BMW, in comparison to what you got for the cost.

For comparison, I had a fully-loaded 135i, concurrent with the 2011 MY as the 1M and even the MSRP on that standard 1 Series was slightly higher than 1M's official asking price.

With the M2 CS, BMW now seems to be making up for loss potential profit, by charging full price of admission - and then some, for one..

Value to price, 1M this is not.

Currently, there are only two BMWs that actually appreciates in value; the Z8 & the 1M.

I'm anxious to see if this CS makes it to No. 3 on that exclusive list but I would certainly not bank on it and pay over sticker, with expectation of it as some sort of investment, which would pay off dividends, later down the line but then again, I'm not a gambling man, who doesn't have money to burn, so what do I know... 🤷🏻

The regional rep called our GM and was quite pissed. Sorry everyone. If anyone was ever wondering if BMW reads Bimmerpost I guess you have your answer.

I'm surprise that you would even risk your job to post the snapshot but thanks, regardless..

I mean, I probably would do the same, in your position but I would of throughly covered my tracks, where the source is untraceable.

It would just random bits of info, tickling down, from screen name "NigerianPrince69" with an IP address from Mars. Good luck figuring out where to send that cease and desist letter, BMW NA
