No. No BMW does, and no BMW will have it in the foreseeable future.
BMW is highly resistant to incorporating nonproprietary tech into its cars. This, as well a contentious relationship with Apple, is fairly well documented in tech circles. Only when BMW perceives that not including CarPlay (as well as Android Auto) is significantly hurting sales will it seriously consider adding the feature.

And if this thread is any indication, BMW is still actively developing its own Apps to work with Android. If that's the case, why would full-on Android Auto be on the immediate horizon?

It is definitely coming and it will be the full Carplay as Apple won't let BMW cripple down their service. It will work as an overlay similar to the iPod-out and will probably only be available in combination with BMW's own NAVPro. Don't count on it to have Carplay as an iDrive alternative for media/satnav^^.
Sources say it should be out in 2016-2017. I presume that the 7series will get it first by the end of this year and it will roll out down the other models as the new touchscreen-idrive will be added to those (tbn that a touchscreen is required to operate carplay). So as for the 1/2 series, it should be available as an option by 2017/2018...

Yes, it has official support for non-touch too. So in a current BMW we just control it with the iDrive instead. But if BMW will release that is another question.

Btw, just read in another forum that BMW will probably transition to new ConnectedDrive including iDrive5 with touchscreen this summer. They are currently changing it on X3/X4 and 6/7 series have it already. So maybe we'll get Carplay this year though |

Just wanted to write a little update on this as BMW has released official news:
As of production 07/16, all new M2 will be equipped with the new iDrive/Connected drive with more natural speech recognition and Wifi hotspot / wireless charging as an option. No mention of a touchscreen though. Apple Wireless Carplay will be available second Half 2016 for 300€. Pricelist-M2-GER on page 19 This is pretty exciting

Not sure on existing ones. As Carplay will only be available after the summer model upgrade measures (MY2017), i presume that the new iDrive/Connecteddrive system will be a prerequisite in case BMW makes Carplay retrofittable.

I 100% agree. A car that is build a mere FIVE DAYS after mine will get the update yet mine will not. It's BS and BMW should offer either a free upgrade or some compensation for this, especially considering they've only really delivered a handful, if that, of customer cars.

In the "iDrive 5.0 in the M2" thread Elwood74 mentioned that he was able to select the 6CP Apple CarPlay Compatibility option for his August build.
I called my CA and sometime between last week and today the system was updated and we were able to select 6CP Apple CarPlay Compatibility for my Week 32 (week of August 1) build. |

Now: That's because CarPlay is an option, not standard -- and I believe the option is triggered by the Executive Package selection, just like Advanced Bluetooth with Smartphone Integration is triggered by the Technology Package selection in 2 Series cars -- and that option is possible starting with August builds, which that car will be. End of issue (and congrats: that car will get iDrive 5.0).
