Do all m2 comps come w/ Michelin pilot sports? I heard some cars may be coming w/ pirellis.

I'm doing a November performance delivery in S. Carolina (in case it's by region/country)

Probably differences in country/region. Where about are you from and maybe someone in the same area can answer for you?

Pirelli snow tires If you request it. When you order the car tires are an options: cold weather, sport tires; or street tires. I ordered high performance tires because I don't plan on driving It in the winter.

When I did the build there is no tire type option (I.e. no option for street, snow, track, performance, all season, etc).

Only option is the wheel color and both wheel color options come w/ a "mixed performance" tire.

I'm assuming mixed performance means Michelin pilot sport? That's what I was trying to clarify.

I take delivery on 9/11 at Performance Center, and I'll check for you.

That usually means all (no) season tires. Mine came with Conti's. Perfectly fine for normal driving and light snow.

Mixed performance means they are summer tires with different sizes front and back.

Even if they don't come with Michelins, just go down to your local tire center and have them put on whatever tire you want. Nothing to overthink.

The Conti that is fitted is a pure Summer tire (Conti Sport Contact 3), which is not meant for light snow at all (unless they fitted 2 different Conti tires, which I'm doubting).

The weird thing is that all I've seen them fit from the factory are pure Summer or Winter tires, no all-seasons.

So...you're saying just go down to my local tire center and drop $1200-1400 on new tires ?
Lol.

Sorry man, I'd rather just try to make sure (as much as I can) that the "correct" tires are on the car before I just go and flush money down the toilet.

Not trying to be a dick, but I'm not arbitrarily going to blow $1400 if I can help it. I also don't want to get new tires as you suggested and then sell the installed tires on eBay or some random online marketplace.

I asked my original question to see if I had selected the correct tire option or if I had missed something in the build bc I could only select "mixed performance"; I was wondering if people who are taking deliveries currently have also selected this "mixed performance" option and if they were getting Pilot sports (or another tire).

This is my first BMW and first factory build so just making sure I've dotted the i's and crossed the t's since most people on this forum are prob more experienced than I am.

No one got to choose Michelin's or Conti's, only Summer or Winter, and not everyone got that.

I'd say the best you can do is ask the dealer that if your car comes fitted with Conti's to swap with another car on the lot that has Michelin's.

Same thing is happening on the M5 side, and my buddy when he ordered his GT3 from the factory. It can be a crap-shoot on what you'll end up with. But in the end, if you get a set of tires that you absolutely loathe, then yes, you'll pop into your local tire center and buy the Michelins of your dreams. Either do it right off the bat, or wear out your first set of factory tires and do then.

Mine came with MPSS's and was delivered in March 2020. I don't remember having any options.

This is what was on there: The ExtremeContact DWS 06 (DWS for Dry, Wet & Snow) is Continental's Ultra High Performance All-Season radial developed for drivers of sports cars, sports coupes, performance sedans and sport trucks. Designed to satisfy year-round driving needs, ExtremeContact DWS 06 tires blend dry and wet road performance with wintertime slush and snow traction.

That is what I thought too until I went to an HPDE at Mid Ohio last year thinking I had summer Conti's. Well... Not so much!

That is bizarre. Did you ever ask the dealer? What year is your car, and did you order it yourself (or dealer did)? The only option BMW shows is mixed Performance, which is summer.

I think it depends on the market. There were no options when I ordered. Summer tires only. Michelins. I was surprised when I herd some cars came with Conti's?

I think your dealer must have swapped the tires. I've never heard of an M car coming out of the factory with all-season tires.
