M2 CS vs 991.1 GTS
Folks
Have the option to get a 6spd M2CS vs 991.1 GTS manual. I have M2C for couple years and really love it. Not sure what way to go.. have only 24 hr to make a decision. I have always been looking to get a 911, but I'm sure that M2CS will be an amazing vehicle as well. Thanks for your input.. |

Need more details on the GTS, but as a former 991.1 owner, know that it is a big car. And you need to be going quick on the streets to get any fun feeling out of it.
Your call if it's worth it for the price difference (what's the asking? 110/115/120?) |

I see the car now. I've bought/sold with them myself (my Ferrari). Solid service history until recently. Might be a great buy! |

991.1 GTS every time. The M2 is a nice car, but as Peter Griffin says, a 911 is a 911. And it’s really very modern. The only thing you might be missing compared to a 991.2 or 992 (despite new styling on 992) is like Apple CarPlay. Other than that, putting a 2014 991.1 next to a 2019 991.2 only reveals subtle exterior differences and the interior is practically identical other than the steering wheel....which can be swapped to a 991.2 steering wheel if you want.
And I think the 991.1 sounds slightly better than the 991.2. |

That's a tough one.
My brother has a manual 2016 991.1 GTS which I have driven a bunch. I felt my 981 GT4 was the better driver's car though and just more exciting. At the end of the day, the 991.1 GTS is not a GT Porsche. It is a value package Carrera S with what?...additional 30 hp. Don't underestimate what the M2CS will be in comparison just because one is a BMW and the other a Porsche. In it's totality, a brand new M2CS will have many pros over a 2016 991.1 GTS: 1) CS will 'feel' faster on the streets... 430 NA (which is awesome btw) vs 444 twin turbo (which is awesome as well for different reasons) 2) CS will have better amenities and more modern interior. The 2016 GTS interior is not that good in comparison... 3) CS will have the rarity and honestly the cool factor as well (if that's important to you) 4) CS with a little more practicality 5) New BMW with maintenance covered for sometime vs potentially expensive 991.1 GTS repairs on the horizon 6) You already love your M2C Obviously, a major difference between the two is the weight difference and chassis... the great equalizer in favor of the GTS. I say go M2CS, unless you are ready for something different in the 991.1 GTS, which is a great drivers car in its own right. Edit: I just see the 24hrs have passed. Either way M2COMP goes.. it's a win-win. Last edited by csbear; 09-09-2020 at 11:43 PM.. |

I'd choose 991.1 GTS (PDK or manual) without any hesitation over any BMW that is currently on the market.

Since you’ve already had an M2C, how about going to the dark side for a change?
I don’t think the driving experience is going to be that much different going to a CS vs. a 911 GTS For me, it’d be the GTS without hesitation. |

Think of it this way, you can always get a 911, you wont be always able to get a M2CS.

It's so encouraging to see how much love the M2CS is getting, and with excellent reason without a doubt! But...a Neunfer is a Neunfer no matter what trim!
The 997.2 GT3 RS I test drove over a decade ago spoiled it for me: no other car comes even close to the exhilarating feel I had while driving it...all of my senses were on fire!!! IF/WHEN I'll upgrade from my M2C, it will be for some 911 variant for sure. My vote: 991.1 GTS all day, any day, especially on Sundays! |
