How does this bloated car go 4.2 in 6mt? Blah blah C&D is shilling for BMW. Someone go check the mag...it must be filled with adverts from BMW. Total rubbish!

IMHO if it handles the weight effortlessly...I'll take it. The only thing that worries me is the drone/noise in everyday DD guise.

I guess I like my cars like my women...chubby!

I didn't reference 0-60 times. No one did. We were talking about 1/4 mile times and trap speed. Yes, 12.7 @ 113 is sad for a $90k base 991.1 with zero options given that the Carerra has long been regarded as the quintessential sports car. A car with such great handling and luxurious appointments should have the straight line speed as well. This is where the turbo 991.2 will rectify the previous generation's shortcoming.

LOL at the F80 drivers who scoffed because they thought the M2 wouldn't trap in the teens. Estimated times are always more conservative than concrete numbers, as has been tried and true from BMW, year after year.

Crunches 2nd gear synchro on fast shifts. I wonder what will happen first: BMW fixes their 2nd gear grind on M cars or they stop offering MT altogether?

Bad on E46 M3, horrific on Z4M, bad on E9x M3, occasionally reported on F8x M3/M4...

I can shift a Mazda 3 faster into 2nd than I could my Z4M. Didn't have this problem with a 135i I drove though.
No 1 series issues that I'm aware of.

Impressive! DCT option will definitely shave some time off of this.
A JB4 and some basic bolt ons should do this car well.
I'd much rather have this versus the F8x myself.

Well, that point went well over your head.

There's more to a sports car than 1/4 times/traps.

That's plenty of straight line speed. Some of the best sports cars on the planet are slow as all hell.

Moreover, there are plenty of people who'd give up straight line speed in order to retain an N/A engine. The throttle response and linearity that come with it work much, much better from a chassis balance department vs. a turbocharged engine.

Sure, the new 911 "rectifies" your need for straight line speed, but it does so at the expense of something many people (INCLUDING PORSCHE mind you) didn't want to give up.

Apparently, it's guys like you (and Obama) killing our revvy N/A mills.

Because you need to trap more than 113 to get to the 7-11 on time.

Despite raving about the car they really hated the steering. Are there any modern cars that have legit steering feel? Makes me want to throw some more coins in my e90 repair fund...

Any reason why 0-60 is 4.2s but 5-60 rolling is 4.7s?
And is 91 fuel equivalent to 98 Ron we get in the uk?
Genuine questions, sorry if these are obvious to you all!

91 AKI = 95 RON (not exact but close)

Your 98 RON is closer to a 93-94 AKI

+5 dB is a lot louder. Psychoacoustics comes into play here but +10 dB is what most people would consider "twice as loud." So +5 dB can be thought of as 50% louder.

The 1m definitely has a weak 2nd gear synchro, there's been a few threads on the topic. Mine decided to start grinding on quick shifts from 1st to 2nd at about 16k miles. Brought it to the dealer and they couldn't replicate the problem themselves, but we ended up just taking them for a spin to show em.

Their fix is to replace the entire transmission. I'm at around 33k miles now and no issues since, now hold on while I go find some wood to frigging knock on.

Be careful with C&D numbers. They are usually better than everyone else and they adjust their results for temperature.
