PDF featuring specifications: BMW_M2_US-2.pdf (90 pages) (note: pages 4 and 5 per car were deleted, as it featured merely reserved space for future official M2 pictures). Overview (updated):
Given the VINs indicated on the revealed shipping docs screenshots in the first post, it is possible that the US spec M2 pre-production cars manufactured - as per public BMW VIN decoders - since the second half of August (August/September 2015), are currently still in Europe. True that it's speculation, but shipping takes time, of course. Hence, IMHO the thread title should be changed to "Several pre-production M2 on US soil - Full specs of 30 discovered".

The other thing is 909 and 991 which means Analyseconnector and Pre-series Management. So I think they are all mules for testing or showing them to the public on shows. EDIT: On the german VIN-decoder www.bmwarchiv.de you can see the image of the car from your code. Unfortunately that is not the case with bimmer.work? If I enter the US-code on our archive it automatically directs me to the US-site bimmer.work. So no images I guess?

Damn this is a nice find
So what can we confirm from this? - Option list? I did not find anything new on the list that we have not seen before other than pre release and development stuff. - Engine? N55 with 365 hp - They are all pre-development cars with special equipment and a camouflage wrap vinyl? Interesting to see the enormous amount of test mules they have build over the past months. MR |

I use to work across from the 300 NW Ridge Road in Sandy Spring, Georgia.
They did get the I8 and I3 early before being released and I was able to see them parked in front of their little headquarter tucked behind some trees. I also remember seeing the M6 there as well and this was all around begging 2014. Wish I still lived there I would go spy some photos for you all. |

Just for BigTuna's benefit, since he's in the US, the driver training thing doesn't apply here in the US. Although, PCD is an option for anyone, so there's that.

My X5d is in for scheduled maintenance this morning and I selected an M235i Service Loaner just to spend some more time with a 2er today in anticipation.

Assuming US car production won't start until April 2016, will they still be sold as 2016 models or 2017? I've never been entirely clear on how model years are defined by manufacturers.
