If it's part of the pattern then all installs would look like that. That's why I'm asking others that have had it installed to post pics.. Since xpel is reading this thread perhaps they can comment?

It looks to be part of the pattern, we will look at this more closely when we are in Austin working on confusion's M and make any adjustments if necessary

The dropdown menu for the make of car shows just a few manufacturers.

Ah yes, thats because we're working on the new vehicles as we speak. Our designers are working vigorously to make patterns for all the new vehicles that come in 2017. If you look at 2016 you can see all the manufacturers that are listed. There will be, of course, more coming as we develop the kits for them.

Did they show you the pattern up front before the install? Just seems like they got lazy and didn't want to remove the side gill.

You can also tell in the pic it's not even consistent around the gill, looks like something i could of done with a pair of scissors lol.

Here's mine. Obviously not totally done but you can see that there's no seam there.

Ok, thanks that was the verification I needed to confirm it was a poor job.

I'm sorry to hear that. DetailersDomain has had my car since Tuesday morning. He wanted to take his time and get it done right.

so it everyone wrapping the whole car or just some of the parts. I need to get an idea of the minimum I would need to wrap. I'm starting to think fenders front and back and front bumper is a must

I'm doing, front bumper, full hood, front fenders, mirrors, rockers, A-Pillars, rear fenders, headlights and front of roof line at a minimum.

So are you doing a complete custom job? There are actually cut outs on the M2 gills just like my picture shows while yours is a solid piece. I'm trying to decide how to handle this with the installer I have other issues with the job like incomplete coverage and the lower bumper has all sorts of seams. It may just be what is expected with the stock pattern.

I think he's doing a combination wrap with the available template and some custom cuts. I stressed that I do not want any seams so maybe he kept that in mind. He wanted to go up to the A pillars but then I would've had a seam at the top of the windshield so I opted out. I'll get some pictures tomorrow if I'm able to pick it up. I would rather have less coverage than coverage with visible seams. Have you worked with this installer before? I was very hesitant about wrapping to begin with as I'm very particular but they came highly recommended so I took the chance. So far they've been very good at communicating everything they're doing as they're making progress. It's also getting a nanolex coating after the xpel is done.

First car I've put ppf on so I'm new to the whole thing. So many seams! I should have been clear with the installer up front like you were.. I just assumed it would look perfect for the amount of money paid. Live and learn I guess. Thanks for the input.

In Paris, France it's $ 1690 and $ 5637 respectively (the front seems too cheap in comparison to the full car)
Furthermore a full colour wrap would be $ 3382, on top of which one can, if one wants, place the XPEL at the prices above.
I didn't ask about protecting the rear wings.
I hope they realize that's an M235i diagram...

Just wanted to chime in, the pre cut kits are great and they provide the safest solutions for the owners as well as the installers.

Without knowing how to remove the side gills it can drive an installer nuts, as an installer I would rather play it safe then go aggressive and start removing trim pieces that we do not know how to.

I feel strongly that if you speak to your installer they will figure a way to make sure you are happy. Drop your installer a call he will back his work, if not call Xpel and they will make sure you are a happy with the end results.
