A quick thought on Hockenheim Silver

Hey guys! I'm considering buying an M2c before New Year's. I went to two dealers today to look at colors, and HS, what I thought was only better than Alpine White, really looked fantastic on this overcast day. It looked a bit milky, but with a shade of blue mixed in. Sunset orange, what I originally had in mind, looked somewhat... gross? Granted, I only saw it on an M240 vert in the showroom, so maybe the color didn't complement that car like it might on the M2c. But regardless, HS really is a color that you have to see in person.

Anyway, this makes things a tougher choice than it was this morning. Hooptie157's M2 looks better by the minute!

I knew i wanted HS the second I saw the car on the net, and after seeing it in person solidified that - it almost changes colours as the sun hits it . It arrives in a week or so ...going nuts waiting lol

It goes white to grey and has gold hues in the sun. It's an awesome color.

I have HS. It's a subtle beauty. I think it depends on what you want. Something kinda flashy or bold, or stealth.

I have it, but am not overly enamored over it. I get a ton of compliments over it, which is nice but it’s not something I really understand. To me, the M2 color palette is a bit underwhelming. My second choice was LBB, but it looks turquoise under certain lighting which is my least favorite color. Passed on white since my previous 2 BMWs were white and having previously owned a black car, didn’t want to repeat that. Finally that left sunset orange which looks neither red nor orange to me. That left HS, which is what I ultimately got. I like it, but don’t love it.

I feel the same way. I have a black 135i which is a nightmare to keep clean, white looks boring to me, LBB was the launch color for the OG M2, and honestly, that car looks better than the competition, so I don't want to get a "lesser" looking M2 in the old M2's launch color, I guess. That leaves HS and Sunset. If I had it my way, I'd have it in imola or melbourne; just give me a proper red. It almost makes me want to hold out until 2021 for a possible red, or skip the M2c entirely. I just want a red!

I just bought a HS a few days ago. Absolutely stunning color which changes depending on the light. Outside it can be white with gray or blue tones. In the dark it can be a milky gray or chalky white. I would never have bought a white car, but this thing is just amazing. I’m not sure if you had a question OP, but yes, get HS. It’s beautiful.

I was thinking about HS, but then saw sunset orange at the dealer and liked it a lot more than I thought I would. They also had HS so I could compare. My wife liked the orange better and I’m really loving it after a month living with it. With all these dynamic colors, there are some times it looks better than others. So far, lots of compliments on it. I admit the color isn’t for everyone. I had black on my OG M2... can’t go wrong with black, but ultimately I realized I wanted an actual color for my next car. I thought I’d get Long Beach blue on my first M2 but the teal color in certain lighting ruined it for me... but I still like Long Beach blue overall, just not for me. I agree with everyone it’d be nice if they offered more color choices.

Not sure why they didnt offer red, would have preferred a better orange, but I honestly think they missed an opportunity to do some cool green color.

I really like my HS M2C, it's dynamic, easy to keep clean, and unique...however I understand the somewhat lack of emotion compared to a red or deep blue, etc.

If black wasn't such a pain to take care of, that would've been my next pick, the car looks great in that color.

I would have picked a dark grey color in a heartbeat if one had been offered, but the color choices led me to HC. I do have to say I have grown fond of it. I really like the chalk color it has under certain lighting conditions. I also like that it is not flashy.

I was on the fence for weeks when I ordered mine, I picked AW, then again I always pick AW... 🤔

3rd White bimmer, had sapphire black (loved the silver flakes) and Orient Blue back in the day

Seen LBB on the road a few times recently, and SO, both look good, any color looks good with these body lines (rear fenders) In short you can't go wrong with any color

I would have liked San Marino blue, but I'm definitely happy with HS
In my opinion, LBB, BSM and SO look much better in photo then in real life, HS the opposite, AW is ugly in any case to me.

I got mine, and I wasn't sure about HS either. The car does change with the light, and I am now very happy with the choice. The other thing is it offsets the carbon and black really nicely. I thought white initially, then black, but now I'm really happy. Everyone has black, and I didn't like the LBB or Orange.

Seems like the overwhelming majority of M2C's are HS, so I didn't want it for that one reason alone. I will admit it's a pretty color, but too common. I opted for the Sunset Orange because I think it looks phenomenal and it's not nearly as common. Nothing wrong with HS.

Nothing wrong with sunset orange. I find it a lot more unique and wouldn't mind choosing that color just to add to the specialness of the M2C.

Originally I had my mind set on HS, but if I were to get a M2C, you may have swayed me to get orange haha. Too bad it is not an option on the CS

Agree. SO is a severely underrated color and in the flesh, it is stunning. The amount of comments I've gotten just on the color is more than I got on my Sapphire Blue GT4. (I personally hate flat colors like "regular" blues, oranges, etc.)

Even LBB and HS owners have said how amazing SO looks, especially at night... when it is almost a Cherry Red. I have gotten more compliments on this car than any I have owned due to the color of all things. I was deciding between LBB and SO, but went with SO due to LBB being the more common color.

Most M2Cs are HS, but how often will you see another M2C?

I've run into 4 or 5 sunset orange cars, a few M340is and X2s.

I like SO better than HS anyway, but I'm pretty sure HS is going to be more rare all things considered.

Great color. By far the best choice for the M2C, IMO.
