Exclamation Ordering a 2017 M2 - Please advise >>

So am looking to do an euro delivery for a 2017 M2 anytime between April and July next year. The feedback from this forum is that the wait time is around a year so keeping that in mind I contacted a few dealers now but almost all of them said to contact them next year closer to when I want to order the car. No one mentioned any list I should get on, etc.

I ordered my 2016 M3 last year and the process was fairly straightforward. Put a deposit in match 2015 and ordered in June 2015 as soon as the 2016 pricing released and picked up the car in August. So what do I need to do different here? I am afraid if I wait till March next year I may be too far down a list and with such few allocations I might not be able to get the 2017.

Please help/advise.

Thanks.

Dealers don't get their allocations that far in advance so they would just put it in the order bank and it would sit there.

True but how can one ensure an allocation as and when it come out? If the wait really is one year, how do people get on the so called list that early?

Call your local dealers or find a dealer with a relatively short list and get on it and wait like the rest of us lol. I don't think availability allows you to time delivery like other models..its a blessing in its own right to grab an allocation

I'm going though the same situation. I don't want the car earlier than late summer 2017 and submitted my order for EU delivery and on a waiting list that is predicted to get an allocation for me around that time. However, You can't really time it to work for your schedule. You can take the allocation when it is offered or you can pass it up.

Understood. However one would think 5 months is a fairly broad span of time to allow for a schedule to work. I basically want to avoid winter ED. The dealers I contacted didn't seem to have any list going.

Exclamation

Same here ... Looking for summer or fall 2017 Euro Delivery for a 2017/18 M2. On two waiting lists in Metro Detroit. One dealer will do Euro delivery for the MSRP less 5% Euro Delivery discount. The other dealer won't do Euro Delivery and price is MSRP. I just got on the lists at the beginning of August for $1,000 deposit and both dealers said at least one year from now. I'm 6 on one list and 8 on the other. I will most likley take the first one available if I can hold out that long. Funny how cars get added daily to Car Guru on both coasts. Hmmm....
