Thinking about M2C GTS style carbon Fiber Hoods

Has anyone installed one of these? Issues or problems?

First link isnt valid, BTW. I do love that hood. I'd even get one in metal as opposed to CF. I think it makes the front end look even better!

Sorry about first link. I went to RW Carbon is where a GTS hood is. I'll check out steel BMW GTS hood for price and availability.

I'm curious which one fits the best... Aftermarket body panels can have a lot of issues. Was really bummed when BMW decided to change the design for the M2CS.

I'd be interested in the actual CS hood from BMW. OEM-ness and quality, and I actually really like the M2CS variant of the hood as it's specific to the M2 and not just a carry over from the M3/4 CS/GTS.

Why would BMW source the CF parts from Taiwan when they have very advanced CF manufacturing facilities at the same plant where the M2 is made - Leipzig?

If I had to change the hood, I would F with OEM setup.. Regardless of the price...

You mean go with the MP hood vs the CS?

They both look fine but I suspect the CS would be harder to source OEM, so yes..

Also worth noting that the manufacturer has been known for absolute garbage quality. There is a thread floating around here with some pictures. Looked like the sort of thing a little kid would make. Truly horrific.

I guess that's why its half the price and comes with no warranty or return. Buyer beware - you get what you pay for, and often not even that

Part number: 41612449807

A couple of vendors here in the US that sell them.

Here's one of them that I've had a good experience with:

Will OEM M2 CS hood be available for re-sale though?

Or will BMW vin lock replacement part orders like they did with the E46 M3 CSL

Even if they vin lock, you can easily pull one online and order.

Or...... so I've heard. Last time I was in Mexico.

I heard they don't vin-lock replacement parts anymore, the $6,000 price tag is more than enough of a deterrent..

I don't have a part number yet to verify it but judging on the price for M4 CS' hood, then yea, 6k ballpark..
