With coding, I guess one can always revert back to ASD...more of a personal preference for folks
I turned it off since I do a lot of highway miles. The drone was absolutely driving me nuts.

I just installed this bypass tonight after installing Remus race + AA midpipe a couple of weeks ago. The drone at 80mph was awful (IMO) and now it is all gone. Cabin is quieter, and when getting on it, the new exhaust setup sounds pretty much like what the ASD sounded like. When not accelerating or decelerating the cabin noise is almost isolated to just road noise.

I have noticed the same thing. I found that the bass in the car is now less pronounced, cabin noise e.g. road noise is louder. So you you may be right, might have some other purpose like white noise...
Did you check your bass and treble settings after disconnecting the battery? My settings were reset so needed to "EQ" everything again.

Good call. Once coding the Head unit, all EQ settings are back to flat(default).
You might wanna check that.

Don't think you can really go wrong with which of the adapters you pick, although some are faster at connecting, reading/writing than others. Here's the approved iOS and Android list of adapters for Bimmercode.

I used Bimmercode to disable ASD, no issues with the radio or anything else. Road noise is more pronounced, because the fake ASD noise isn't there to drown it out.
Thanks, the reason I ask is that pricing is all over the place, from $30 to $100+. Was wondering if there really is a difference
Veepeak worked for me
