255/40 winter tire question

Looking at a used set of winters in 255/40 19. I only have staggered wheels currently the stock 788M. I was planning on running these square tires on the car for the winter.

My summer setup is 255/35 front and 275/35 rear with no rubbing.

Two concerns I have are increase in profile and minor stretch of 255 tire on 10" diameter wheel. According to the tire calculator, it will be 1" great diameter. Car is not lower and at factory M2C height.

Thoughts from anyone?

19x10 front rim? I don't think that will work without rubbing as a 19x9.5 rubs if it isn't the right offset

golf4501 No, sorry. Factory setup so 19x9 front and 19x10 rear. 255/40 all around.

I got a set of 640m wheels from M4 on M2C. 255 40 R18 on four wheels, ET27 front and ET29 rear.
The front wheels are rubbing a little bit with the plastic when full lock.

Remember that those 640M's are 18s which will not fit on a US M2C. They are also not 10" wide wheels.

CTSean @zapping2 I missed that. How is an 18" wheel fitting over an M2C's brakes? If I understand correctly, this would be a bigger issue for me on 19's and a 10" wide rear wheel.

They don't fit. In Europe, the M2C doesn't come standard with the big brakes - they have the same brakes as the OG M2s, therefore some 18" wheels fit. zapping2 pic shows the "regular" M2 blue calipers and rotors. To be honest, His winter wheel setup really has nothing to do with your question at all. His tires are also an inch smaller in diameter (and still rub).

My barely educated opinion is that 255/40/19 is too big for an M2 anyway - they are 3/4" larger diameter that the stock rear tires.
