M2 comp vs F80 M3
How does the M2 competition compete against the F80 M3 CP, had 2 F80s and found the F80 CP to be very stiff for daily driving
Doesnt the M2 Comp have adaptive suspension? The reviews for M2 are great. Anyone came from a F80 and can compare both the cars Thanks

IMHO the biggest difference is the shorter axles on the M2. It makes the car much more communicative, fun and tossable..

Is the M2 lighter and more nimble than the M3
You say it doesnt have EDS so does suspension changes automatically for different modes like sports or comfort or it is the same setting for all the modes? |

I went from adaptive on the F80 (non comp MY16) to the "standard" suspension on the M2c. The M2c is more aggressive in stock form and a bit more harsh/unsettled over certain bumps/terrain.
With that said I definitely prefer the stock M2c. Ultimately I believe the suspension is a compromise point of stock M cars but it also depends on the intended use. For a lot of people it's fine. I've upgraded the M2 to KW V3 with Millway street CPs and it's a very good street/occasional TD set up. |

Checked the standard features and did not see HUD or Rev match, is it available as a standard feature or part of any options?

Had both, the M3 ZCP has a more compliant suspension, mainly due the the longer wheelbase and probably due to the ESD. The M2C has static suspension and is move lively due to the wheelbase being shorter. The trade off is that the M2C is more fun to drive while the M3 ZCP makes for a better cruiser. I don't think either car is overly stiff but that's me. If i were in your shoes, i would simply test drive the M2C.

The longer you stretch out that distance between the wheels, the less vertical movement will be be experienced by anything between those wheels since the driver/passenger/etc will be getting further and further away from whatever axle is experiencing vertical movement. The longer you stretch out the arm here, the less that load is going to move when you raise that arm a set amount. I hope that makes sense. |

Is Rev match in all modes , in my F80 it was in comfort and sports mode only and not in sports plus. Can you turn that off?

The rev matching is always on unless the traction control is FULLY off. MDM (half off) will not disable the rev matching in the M2c. However, the car doesn't care what steering and throttle mode you're in. So comfort steering with eco mode for the engine and fully off traction/stability control will still let you match your own revs. |

I have a standard F82 DCT and an M2C 6MT on order (for ED). I have driven both extensively on the track at various BMW events and the M2/M2C, in my opinion, is a far superior vehicle in terms of fun. The M3/4 are much more comfortable/luxurious, while putting up basically identical performance numbers. I went for the M4 because there were no deals to be had on an M2 when I got it, the M2C wasn't quite out yet and I wanted the extra power. I have HUD and it's cool, but totally useless with polarized sunglasses. All this said, if the ED doesn't work out, I am still not sure I'll take the new M2C. I think I will, but I am not certain. A Python Green 718 GTS 4.0 is starting to cut off my circulation...

I just drove a manual M2C at a porsche dealership having 1k miles and loved it , the transmission and clutch is really great and the car felt nimble and very fast
Is there a digital speedometer which displays speeds in the center , I got the digital display when I hit BC but it wouldn't show the speed along with trip A or trip B details Secondly does the car shows the gear indicator which gear it's in, not the computer telling to shift to which gear? Both of them were in my M3s but couldn't locate in the short test drive Does it have active sound I mean it amplifies the exhaust sound though the speakers ? I like this car and currently drive a C7 vette, car feels nimble and quicker off the lot than the C7 although the C7 has 60hp more and torque. Looks good in person too . Liked it lot better than my F80 M3s Last edited by boss2k; 07-17-2020 at 05:14 PM.. |

2. I don’t have a 6 speed but the DCT does show which gear you are in. 3. ASD is present. I have the ASD bypass installed. ASD is a fake exhaust sound not an amplified real sound. |

Look down at the shift knob and then at your speed and rpm...it should be self explanatory! 😉
