Throttle house review makes it sound pretty meh. Numb steering and the manual car doesn't break traction in 2nd gear when you floor it, no thanks. F87 M2 CS for me by far when factoring looks inside and out.

Throttle House review was pretty good. I think a lot of people will love the car. It’s just not the type of car I’m interested in and I get the TH point of view. I suspected it would be a lot like the G82. Amazingly fast and capable but not for the enthusiastic driver. That’s pretty much all performance cars these days though. The fun is over.

I’m sure some type of pickle will vent on me, but, honestly, choose what floats your boat and just enjoy it.

I have to say Achilles’ video was as crap as pretty much every video he has ever made. Driving downhill with his timing gear was a highlight. It almost feels like picking on the disabled with him though. That makes me feel uncomfortable.

I suspect I’ve already purchased my last new BMW. Probably last new anything TBH as I don’t have a commute, which is what new cars excel at. Older ones make you smile. That’s no longer important.

I agree with this. A lot of people will like a capable car with all the G series comforts. It's similar power to the F87CS but I think 300lbs heavier. I'm sure the G87CS will step things up. I pick on the weight a bit, but I don't think weight is as much as a metric as it once was. Chassis dynamics are offsetting a lot. Most won't ever be in a situation where they can tell the difference of what a couple hundred pounds feels like.

This guy really nails the differences at the end of this video. One is not really better than the other. They are just very different cars. Refers to the CS as a thoroughbred and this as a great GT car.

Ha. Well it seems I’ve been blocked from the G87 forum. I’m assuming it was my unbridled reaction video above that provoked the ban as I never posted anything negative otherwise. Just a balanced opinion with no real negatives. Very odd. I think it’s going to be a great car for people that like that type of car, it’s just for a different audience than the F87. I guess in a way it’s good that whoever moderates that forum is so passionate about it.

How anyone can say the G87 looks better is beyond me. I’ve clearly departed the growing mainstream on looks. I never liked mullet haircuts, flared jeans and platform heels either…

I’m definitely riding this GX gen of BMW cars out - will hopefully see some of you on the other side

Agreed, when I look at the front shots of the two cars the F87 is a masterpiece, everything fits together so beautifully, really magical…. The G87 isn’t horrible in my mind, it’s okay, but the design just doesn’t speak to me. Like you, I’ll just hope the next generation of designers has a bit more talent… (here comes the ‘you don’t know what you’re talking about)
