I dropped off from the dealer in the US Mid-south where I was highest on the allocation list. Their list is fairly short (even now) and supposedly they are taking delivery of an M4 GTS so they should be getting a reasonable number of allocations.

M4 GTS has nothing to do with M2 allocation. Full year m2 allocations per dealer were already set before BMW picked who they would allow to even buy a GTS.

But they dealers still don't know how many allocations they're getting in a given month correct? I assumed if they were picked to get the GTS, they should have received a fair number of M2 allocations. In any case, too much uncertainty for my liking, especially with only making one or two batches of 2016s.

The dealer will know exactly how many allocations they are getting for the month. Same with any other car! The difference with the M2 is that the larger dealer's sales rep informed them of what minimum number of allocations to expect for the year.
