Just stay in there if you can wait.

I regret not waiting when I had my 1M allocation. I live in snow area and my 1M was like 12 months away ETA December and I was thinking go for their #2 1M in the spring which never happened. Good things are worth waiting for.

I feel you. I have the "luxury" to wait.

Unfortunately I don't. Already sold the Z4MC based on a promise they couldn't keep and other car is gone first week of July.

I'm already shopping for alternatives, which is sad, but can't really live without a car here as we have no public transport.

Not completely certain that M models will be included in that allocation, but I'm guessing they will.

People in the 2-4 range(depending on how many M2s your dealers are getting) on their respective waitlists should be able to get their production numbers in early June!

Good luck to everyone
Again, thanks for the continuing info! These updates are like food for the starving.

Do you think you will be able to become more certain that M models will be in the allocation before it happens?

You can probably rent a car for $700 a month? It maybe an option depending on when is your allocation.

As an alternative, you can find a cheap lease or buy a beater if you want the M2 bad enough. The only problem is if you don't need two cars the insurance may get $$.

If I'd knew it's taking so long, I should have purchased that HEA car and sell to you in July while waiting for my allocation.

Dealer won't offer a loaner? Mine has. Seems like they should considering the circumstances.

We'll see how things go this week. They refused to before which is how I ended up with the other car going back in July and I'm not wasting any more money on a car I don't own.

Do I want the M2 bad? Sure.

Do I want it bad enough to let it cost me more than the $2800 in rentals so far? F*ck no.

There's plenty of other cars out there, it's their loss as they'll be losing a young loyal customer with another 50+ years of cash to throw at sports cars.

Definitely will be their loss. Hopefully they come to their senses and work it out for you.

It they have 1/2 a brain about nurturing customer loyalty they will work something out for you... a loaner costs them significantly less than it would you. Hope you get some good news!

Believing that kind of change would come out of the blue is akin to believing in Santa Claus.

I can't confirm this, but this is what I am conjecturing will happen given the available info.
So free maintenance is discontinued for 2017 M2s even though production was slow?

They don't shut down for summer break like they use to years ago.

Free Maintenance is simply reduced by one year for MY17, 3/36 instead of 4/50. Additionally, Brake Pads, Rotors, Wiper Blades and clutches will not be covered as part of Free Maintenance for 2017 and onwards.

90% sure I'm giving up my #1 spot. So I probably won't be finalizing my order on 6/3.

Why do you think you may give up your spot?

If you do give it up, please let me know. I would be VERY interested to take it (if possible). Thanks!
