Whoever has seen this color in the flesh does it look anything like this?
Its very turquoise which I'm not a fan of. At the start of the vid if you look to the far right it shows a good comparison against what ever the other blue is. Clutching at straws here as its the only color I'm interested in now with he release of the limited color's. I will only go Mineral Grey if they offer SO or Imola interior but I think thats even been ruled out. EDIT Just found this I don't mind how it looks here? Was there a difference in Preproduction LBB? In the second video, it's under showroom lighting which is bright, and it'll look like that. I've seen LBB in both conditions. I think it's a stunning color |

I reproduce in this dedicated LBB thread what I posted about that color in the latest M2 color thread (http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=325)
To my eyes Long Beach Blue Metallic looks like a mix of petrol blue with turquoise, alike the Blue Lagoon cocktail featuring the blue curaçao liquor. Frankly speaking, this car needs a more vivid color to mark its presence as newborn ///M breed within the car world. Now there's just monochrome (black/white/grey) and a rather underwhelming cocktail blue (despite the availability of so many great shades of blue). If the color poll is a tell-tale sign, cocktail blue (LBB) will be the most 'popular' M2 color, likely not as choice of preference, but as choice after elimination. We're gonna see wrapped M2s fairly quickly. To those craving for Techno Violet: get a TV wrap. From hindsight, Valencia Orange was such a smart choice as launch color for the 1M: this original hallmark color stands out in grey traffic, a fast approaching bright spot in the rear view mirror. Check the Porsche marketing strategy with the Cayman GT4: in-your-face yellow as launch color. It seems that the marketing folks at BMW totally missed out on that easy opportunity: color as a statement. I don't get it, really.

Personally pretty surprised to see how popular this color seems to be. And I wonder if that would be the case, had their been a respectable list of options in color choices. I don't see the appeal in the slightest... I do love a nice blue.. But LBB doesn't do it for me.

There is an X6M parked in my parking lot right now with LBB. Beautiful color. It looks more like the Auto Moto Tube (LA Auto Show) video by far. The color is darker than what many think. If you don't want to go the white, black, grey route on the M2, LBB is really nice IMO. I think when people see LBB on the M2 on the road they are going to be quite surprised.

Closer to the second pic than the first... My neighbor works for BMW in NJ and gets to drive all the good stuff. i8, M4, M3, etc, etc.. So it's basically a BMW car show at my home. Right now there is an SO M4 and LBB X6M in the parking lot.
I am pretty sure I will see the M2 in camo and without it when it gets closer to actual release...unfortunately I am moving soon. Last edited by csbear; 05-09-2015 at 10:37 PM.. |
