I am admittedly biased . I do have a few comments on the video though.

1) The Supra comes with bigger 255/35 and 275/35 tires. The M2C can also run this size.

2) The Supra is a 2 seater. If you don't care about the rear seats do a back seat delete on the M2C and reduce some weight.

3) The M2C was a 6MT. Everyone knows that the auto tranny in the Supra will be faster. The speed of an MT car is especially controlled by the driver. He may have not been good at shifting. They should have compared the Supra with a DCT M2C.

4) The drivers were not allowed to switch cars which means differences in driving skills can not be ruled out.

The cars were so close that the above stated factors could have changed the outcome of the review, IMHO.

So how will the M2 CS handle against the new Supra? I honestly dont think it will be worth spending $20-30k more for an M2 CS. Competition is fierce now and M2 CS might not sell well? Thoughts?
I bet BMW will sell every single CS they make, unless they price it at a ridiculous level. And even then, since it will be a limited edition run, I am sure they will sell all of them.

Reasons to me that the CS is compelling: M3 ZCP tune with BMW factory warranty intact, CF roof from the factory, 763M wheels as standard, interior bits that are unique (probably some red accents), red calipers as standard (according to rumor) and some weight loss (even if that amount isn't very much overall).

Now, those things are all great and make the CS distinct from the M2C. But at what price? For me, "how" compelling the car is will depend on where they slot it. Low 70's = Over 80, and where I think it will end up = and the M2C is more compelling at that point.

also, for #1, sounds like the M2C tires were basically done with 10 days on them...I mean, tires are probably the most critical component of lap times haha

also #4 is absolutely true - this was not a good test (or even valid)

Get it right, Get it tight...... I'm amazed at how flat it looks in all the corners. Body roll is really controlled.

Nice!

Hopefully the power dome still has exposed CF. I know it's very fast and furious, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Also hoping we get the CF fenders.

I'm convinced i see two individual vents next to each other instead of one single vent that goes all the way across.

You get a nice view right as the video starts.

Ok first of all both these guys cannot drive to save their lives. Second of all I cannot take this seriously.

Carbon fiber hood featuring a power dome and air vent: see here.

Looks like one of the M2 CS test mules in the latest video features it. The other one (later in the video) doesn't (it's the same M2 CS test mule of the earlier video).

Any thoughts on why we would see two test mules in full camo with and without the new hood? Hopefully it's testing performance difference and not that the CS is going to be revealed without.

I see plate numbers 1353, 1206, and 1207 in the latest video. 1206 and 1207 are in July 1 video. In my opinion 1353 looks to have less body roll, but may just be my mind.

Further progress + the "form follows function" principle.

Now if they would just throw idrive7 at it. I'm guessing the idrive systems are not a simple plug and play module. I'm sure idrive6 will be a vast improvement over my current system. At least it supports Android auto?

Should be easy to throw in iDrive 7, it's a software upgrade. Look at the F90 M5. MY20 now has iDrive 7.

But I'm sure Bmw would not want to do this for a LE model. Even though I think more and more brands are catching on the importance of tech in cars and how it must be refreshed regularly.

The car looks as planted and stable as any BMW I've seen on video on the ring . . .

I hold out hope as a special add on since I read ID7 should be in cars produced from April 2020. Right around the time the CS goes into production.

BMW doesn't get down like that; they won't upgrade the iDrive until the next generation M2.

iDrive 7 requires a digital dash, no way they would revamp the cluster where minimalist is the key in the CS and beside, the spy shots already shows the current instrumental panel.
