The E46 is such a timeless car, I never get tired of looking at them.

It is exactly the same weight as the 1M.
The differences come from US vs. EU measuring standards.

Where are you getting your numbers from?

1M US Weight is 3,296

M2 6MT US Weight is 3,450

Let me know if you need help with figuring out the weight difference.

So, I saw the white M2 AGAIN today - believe it or not. On the road.

The first time I saw it was on the highway - RT 17. I was heading north and it was heading down south. Right by the Waldwick exit. If you know the area you know that that RT 17 is a major highway to the BMW NA office. Tons of cars go thru the Saddle River/Allendale exit to take the local road to BMW NA in Montvale. Local people will understand what I'm saying. I spotted the front grille on the car from the other side and notice it was white. That's when I reported it here on the forums.

So today, I was driving home locally thru Allendale and saw the White M2 AGAIN. It was going the opposite direction but on a local road. I did a u-turn to see if I could find the car but couldn't find him.

So the car is local. I'm assuming IF it is a M2 it has to be part of the test fleet at BMW NA. I'll keep a look out for it.
Yea that's my home turf up there! I loved seeing all of the new models floating around on the streets. My friend works for NA and they're taking the new models out to make sure the navigations are all coordinated and just looking for little quirks or glitches in the computer systems whether it's in the car itself or the idrive etc, which happens pretty often with new chassis.

But I gotta ask about the wheels on the e46. IMHO it makes a great car look a bit "odd".
Those wheels are Hamann made by OZ, they've been a BMW tuner for basically 30 years now.

That e46 is very much not to my taste. Slammed and stretched

Why do people compare this to e46 m3 besides the weight what else is common.

size.

It's the modern M3, in spirit. The F8x is traditional M5 size, and a big car just isn't as... fun/tossable/placeable, regardless of weight.

And, The M2 is heavier than the e46m :P

Wow I didn't realize the M2 was lower, shorter and WIDER than the E92 and M3. That makes for some nice proportions.

It doesn't look it in person either. It may well be wider and lower than an E92 M3 but it definitely still retains that 1/2 series narrow and tall overall character. It's just the shape of the car and the lines that do that I guess.

I can understand the E46 not being modified to everyone's tastes... But seriously with these ghetto remarks? There's no reason to be this discourteous

When you compare between cars, you don't compare a stock version to a modded version (whether it is tasteful or not).
You just don't.
